Hogan Addresses "Terrordome"

Hulk Hogan called into the Bubba the Love Sponge radio show this morning I did not catch the last part of the interview, but here is what I did hear:

He and Bubba talked about the Terrordome match and Hulk said that when he and Bubba were in the production meeting the day before, about 10 people said there was a decent door to the cage. He then got to the soundstage and found out it had no real door and that none of the wrestlers could climb out of the top, hence the DQ finish. There were plans for a big bump off the cage but it just was not possible. He and Bubba agreed that the Terrordome needs to be scraped for good.

Good call. But why the fuck even go through with it? Should have just done an over the top rope or something.

Why not just put up the six-sides-of-steel? Could have done two things: 1. promote what is their meal ticket to excitement, the X division, 2. introduced fans to a staple TNA gimmick match that is used as a feature in an entire PPV.

If they HAD to use that shitty thing, there is NO excuse for a DQ ending. They had a ref in there, just make it a pinfall, have Homicide club the shit out of everyone, then club Kiyoshi last, get the pinfall and garner more heat.

Honestly it was the first time I'd ever seen the match done. I was never really a regular watcher of TNA so I didn't know if it was a completely new concept.

Yeah they've done the match before. Numerous times at that. I've never seen one but I like the concept of it. Too bad Homicide destroyed it. The tv view sucked anyway.

Kaz is also quite a bit taller then the rest of the guys in the X-Division, specifically Homicide.

So many mistakes in this one, first of all making Homicide, the shortest person in the match be the one that has to climb out. Did they not practice this if there was any confusion? Just goes to show that TNA is in fact the minor leagues as if anybody had any doubt.

And I just hate how they had to bring out the huge structure just to compete with WWE. If you let MCMG and Lethal Consequences go out there and have a standard X-Division Tag Match it would garner the same effect if not better. There's wasn't anything flashy about the Terrordome on Monday, it didn't showcase the X-Division talent in the slightest. As well as the Homicide 'escape' coming off extremely bad on TV, imagine how everybody backstage was reacting to that.

Maybe it should be like a pin or submit match. Put the dome outside of the apron and have it be like a HIAC type match with a door on it if you like.

That' s NOT the fist time that gimmick match had been used by TNA.

At a guess, I'd say the crappy DQ finish was called to the ref from backstage once it became apparent that Homicide couldn't make the climb out of the cage.... I mean otherwise, if they knew they couldn't do this supposedly planned "big" bump and had the issue with there being no door BEFORE the show aired then why leave the match on the card?

He is saying this like it's impossible for there to be a finish to this match. There have been guys that have escaped before. FUCK OFF Homicide can't even do it properly. Just should have had Suicide of Lethal win, atleast we know they can do it.
