WOW! Heyman will run Raw creative and Bischoff will run Smackdown. This is a huge deal. Thoughts?

WWE has named Paul Heyman as Executive Director of Monday Night Raw and Eric Bischoff as Executive Director of SmackDown LIVE, newly created positions reporting directly to WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon.

This just means the ideas that are pitched may get better...
but Vince is still the one calling the shots...& I think we all
have to admit that Vince is not who should be making the
creative calls these days.

And before any of you argue that point...look at the ratings
& live attendance figures for RAW, SDL & Stomping Grounds.

And don't make excuses that "something else" was on...
if the WWE was making a competent & compelling product
they wouldn't have to worry about any kind of competition
because people would still be watching anyway.

I always try to be more optimistic, I think this is very interesting news. But I gotta agree with most people, I'll believe it when I see it. There isn't much Eric and Paul can do if Vince do not let them be creative.

Obviously Vince will have the final say but i would assume that Heyman and Bischoff will have a strong position in creative control. They certainly won't have free reign but i seriously doubt that Heyman or Bischoff would want to just be another one of Vince's lackeys at this point in their lives.

The only thing that brings me pause is Ryan Ward's Smackdown being infinitely better than Road Dogg's.

Still that was purely in terms of show quality, which doesn't matter to WWE.

I think they will have considerable power. We cannot forget about the XFL. Vince is obviously bored with wrestling. He he hired his two major competitors of the 1990s to handle this. I think they will have considerable control and Vince will concentrate on football.

Bischoff and Heyman are the 2 best possible picks to run Smackdown and Raw. Especially now that WWE is competing with AEW.

Eric Bischoff is the only person who has ever beat WWE in the ratings. He's only been an on-screen character while employed for WWE, but he has arguably more knowledge and experience on running a wrestling show than anyone else besides Vince.

Paul Heymans ECW was a minor success that ended in bankruptcy but it still become sort of legendary. His time in the position as lead of creative for Smackdown proved his genius. Im pretty sure they even eclipsed Raw in the rating at some point.

Its weird because people associate Heyman with Smackdown and Bischoff with Raw because of their former on screen characters but I believe its smarter for Bischoff to do a 2 hour show and Heyman do 3 hours because Heyman has been with the WWE much longer and is more aware of whats going on with the talent.
