Benson Henderson will headline another UFC on FOX event.

The former UFC lightweight champion will square off against Josh Thomson in the main event of UFC on FOX 10 at the United Center on Jan. 25, according to UFC president Dana White at the UFC 167 post-fight press conference.

It will be a five-round lightweight fight.

Henderson has previously headlined two prior UFC on FOX events. He defeated Nate Diaz via unanimous decision at UFC on FOX 5 and defeated Gilbert Melendez at UFC on FOX 7 via split decision.

Thomson was expected to face Anthony Pettis at UFC on FOX 9, but Pettis withdrew with an injury.

Henderson (19-3) lost his UFC lightweight title against Anthony Pettis via submission at UFC 164 this past August. He has won seven of his past eight fights overall.

Thomson (20-5 with 1 no-contest) recorded a second-round TKO of Diaz in his return to the UFC this past April.
So that's #1 v #4 in the rankings. If they could get Gil and TJ who are #2 and #3 to fight around the same time then they could then have the two winners face off for the next title shot seen as though Petis is supposed to be out 6-8 months.

Told you Nate Diaz was going to get hotshotted to the title because he and Pettis exchanged some words.

Hendo wins but can't get the rematch, Melendez wins but gets injured. Diaz gets a title shot, leaving Maynard and Cerrone to stand around being bald and angry and wondering how hard it would be to cut to 145. All of a sudden Frankie realizes it could have been his for the taking if it weren't for his Hawaiian punching bag fetish.
