Heel return??

So to summarise, ultimately there is NO rule to how to handle someone's heel/face status upon return then?

I'm pretty sure Mr Kennedy returned as a face when he interrupted William Regal and left for that injury as a heel. Am I wrong?

It's just the buildup that determines how they return. Even Orton could return face if he interrupted someone like Edge in a promo. It just comes down to what creative want them to be and they can make the crowd go with it via the buildup.

I would say it's to take advantage of the fan's natural excitement to have them back.

Not that that's always the case.


It's hard to remind someone who hasn't seen an established star for a while why they have to hate him, so he starts face and then turns heel.
