Former Bellator middleweight champion, Hector Lombard has today ruled out a move to the welterweight ranks despite a disastrous debut inside the octagon this past weekend at UFC 149, explaining one bad fight will not result in a knee jerk reaction.

Speaking via his Twitter page, Lombard said:

“I feel strong at 185 just because I had a bad fight does not mean that I am going to drop to 170.â€￾

It will be interesting to see where Lombard goes from here and whether he goes back to the ultra-aggressive style that saw him put together such an impressive winning streak inside the cage over the years. Will he continue to be a force at 185 pounds or is it true that there is no top level talent outside of the UFC ranks these days?

Even with the loss this past weekend, i agree that he should stay at 185. Give him Munoz or something that's what he was lobbying for awhile back anyways. Makes sense also as both are coming off of loses and what not.
