- Jonathan Coachman has been taking a lot of heat recently because he is not doing near that job that JBL was doing and doesn’t offer much. An incident happened a few weeks ago where the Undertaker was brawling by the announcers table, and Coach stayed in position when the action came close when he was suppose to run away to sell danger. He was punished by having to go to the ring after a show and take several main eveners’ finishes. He took a tombstone from Undertaker, a spear by Batista, and a shillelagh shot from Finlay.

- Speaking of the commentary on WWE television, Vince is giving the announcers a new direction while calling matches. Vince wants more storytelling and less calling holds. Instead of screaming during major angles (like they do on TNA) he wants the announcers to lay out and not say anything. The feeling is that the programming will feel more “realâ€￾ and not as “stagedâ€￾ with fewer/weaker voices. Joey Styles in particular has been told to announce more low-key and not to raise his voice, and to stop calling moves so often. This is basically a 180 degree direction from what made Styles so popular and such a good announcer. Jim Ross has also been given similar direction.

Interesting about the announcers although I can't see Styles and JR not yelling, that just isn't what they do.

That Coachman thing was already posted like a week ago. But since you posted it this is what I think about it: First of all to me it seems Blue that the announcers are supposed to run away when Taker goes out of the ring and I must say that I can't remember ever seeing that happen. Secondly they should be disapointed with Coachman's job because he's not a colorman(no pun intended there). Coach imo would be a very good anchor, like a JR or a Stlyes, however he's not a color commentator. If you look at the traditional color commentator it is a former wrestler, football player, baseball player, etc. Most sports have a former someone, who knows that sport, as there color commentator and someone who isn't an expert, like Coach, do the anchor job. So wtf do they expect? They screwed up by putting the wrong guy in the wrong position so there I don't think they can bitch about him, it's their own fault.

well, its great news for JR in a way. now he cant be get confused when he feels like calling a move he never saw before lol. he screws up at least 3 times every damn raw.

as for the idea itself, for the weekly show its a good idea. but they shouldnt be any storytelling unless the 2 guys are on the mat. which still makes sense cuz the fuckin ppv matches are no different than the raw matches these days....but i understand anyway.
