This week on Impact Greg made his TNA debut participating in one of the three triple threat X-Division matches to determine the new X-Division champion. He won his triple threat match and will be in the Ultimate X title match next week. I watched his debut and aside from the terrible name, which thanks to Chris I now know is his real name, he was damn impressive. One thing about him is that he looked the part especially against the two other guys in the match. Rockstar Spud looked way too small and Rubix just didn't look like a wrestler due to his size. Greg is only 6 foot but he has a solid frame and actually looks like he has visited a gym. Incredibly agile as well and he showed that throughout the match including that huge dive to the outside on Spud.

I know that TNA just released a bunch of wrestlers but they should sign him immediately. He looks the part and would add a lot of legitimacy to the X-Division.

What are your thoughts on Greg/Trent? What did you think of his TNA debut? Do you want TNA to sign him?

His appearance generated interest in terms of me wanting to find out if it was in fact him or not. I'm glad he won his match as Rockstar Spud doesn't strike me as having anything likeable about him and I didn't see enough of Rubix to formulate a proper opinion about him. Honestly, I haven't seen much of Trent's work, so in that respect and the fact that TNA could use someone like him, yes I'd like to see him get signed. With Sabin moving up the card, for the time being anyway, there's a spot in the X Division that needs filled.

He looked like he belonged on tv, looked more ready than quite a few regulars on the TNA roster. Can't see him being an expensive guy to sign either so I think that TNA should sign him to a deal. He has the skills required he just fell out of favour in WWE. He is only 26 so he isn't even close to being in his prime either, would be a very handy addition to the X-Division

Is worth a go. He is also someone TNA can repackage as their own guy rather than a WWE drop out.

Disagree on Rock Star Spud having seen him many times on the UK scene I think he has a lot to offer TNA. Since when has being too small mattered in the X Division?

Genuine question here because I've always struggled to understand why people mark for jobbers like this, is it a hipster thing because Cena is too mainstream?

He looks like a template wrestler on a video game, and wrestles like one too. "Fundementally sound" is just a polite way of saying he's boring.

I can't see what he offers that the guys they released didn't....Joey Ryan has a way more unique look and gimmick than this guy.

I have to actually agree here. Completely. What is so special about the guy? I'm curious as well.

Surprisingly I agree with Cork too...

Especially seeing after the massive who-ahh with getting Joey Ryan into TNA for him to be dropped when he pretty much was one of their better workers on the microphone and needed the bigger exposure but what the hell, this is TNA right?

And some people are wondering why this place is struggling, hell TNA could build a pretty good roster from looking around the Indy circuit and picking up the best of the bunch and no doubt hiring some of the good bookers... JUST ARGGH, RANT.

Then for some reason, people are interested in Trent, sorry but he doesn't bring anything to this.

Can't comment as I have only seen him maybe a couple of times. One was in a rumble match and the other I think was in a tag match once on superstars. Didn't seem anything special but who knows.

I've been impressed by this guy for awhile since he was carrying Caylon Croft. He had an underrated feud against Curt Hawkins on Superstars a few years back as well. So I was glad to see him in TNA and he looked pretty legit and prepared for that match. He was easily the star of that match and I'm glad he won.

I have always hated Jigsaw.

I'm a fan of the guy, and I look forward to seeing what he'll do in TNA. I never expected him to do anything in WWE, but what little he did do, I enjoyed. He always had solid matches on Superstars and NXT and was probably my favorite jobber when he was around.

I have always struggled to understand why people think that every single wrestler has to become a maineventer? Only a select few make it that far but for a wrestling company to excel they need a strong card from the top to the bottom. TNA need some strength added to their undercard and based on that first match he had on Impact, plus what we had already seen in WWE, he looked the part. He looked far better than the other two in the match and one of them is a TNA contracted wrestler.

Let's be honest the X-Division is incredibly weak right now. Aries moved up and out of the division, Sabin has now done the same and they are left with few decent options. They have Kenny King, Manik, Rockstar Spud and Robbie E. That is a terrible division so they need to hire a couple more wrestlers especially when each X-Division match features three wrestlers. Greg looks like he could easily belong in that division and I think he adds more than pretty much all of the four currently contracted X-Division wrestlers.

Joey Ryan would have been a good addition to this division so it was a mistake by TNA for not using him purely in the X-Division to try to add something extra to it. There were others that should have been released before him.

Your post is pretty spot on except do you really expect Sabin to stay at Main event level? Unless he returns to tags it is a safe bet that he will be part of the X Division again before long.

I think Whatever-his-name-is is a good addition. He'll spot monkey like a mofo to try to get the notoriety he didn't get in the WWE, and gain some momentum for a hopeful eventual return (in his thinking, I figure anyway lol). He'll be hungry, looking to prove himself, and TNA needs a few more guys for the division. it's a win/win.

Saw his TNA debut tonight and he didn't show me too much. Like his flip on the outside on Spud but not a lot else. Decent look, who knows.

In the short term, say the next six months, I expect him to remain out of the X-Division. He will hold the title for another month or two and once he drops it he won't go straight back to the X-Division. Eventually he probably will end up back there but for now TNA need more wrestlers in that division other than the four that they have contracted.
