For me it was back in 2003

I used to get in from the boozer and put a bit of the old Manson on. Then we would sit around with the lads talking about the hyprocasies of people, and hpw we could psycoanalyeses anyone we wanted.

Then it would start

The wrestling would be on until 4am, and I would wait until HHH came out. I loved listening to the old Motorhead entrance and how seriously he took it This was before the days of Cena who runed wrestling for the clever fans.

I just wish I could live those days again, its not fair

Probably when I was like 7 in 2003/04. Used to watch SmackDown only - didn't know RAW existed. The SD roster had a huge range of talent and characters: Guerrero, Angle, Taker, Lesnar, Benoit, Mysterio, Booker, Cena, JBL, Show, RVD, etc. Good times.

Late 90s for me. The time of the factions lol. D-X, NoD, The Brood, The Ministry, APA. My best time watching really. And the Divas were more sexually charged back then. I miss that lol.

The Attitude Era of course, late '96 to early '02... best era of wrestling ever!

I loved the start of the Monday Night Wars.

The Outsiders/nWo against the rest of the WCW roster was brilliant. It was such a well-worked angle in the beginning. Of course, this era also gave us Rocky, Austin, Foley, HHH, Jericho, Benoit, Guerrero.......

That was some great television.

Predictable answer, but it was the Attitude Era, back when all the weekly shows and PPVs were must-see and you had some many great and memorable characters like Stone Cold, The Rock, Mr. McMahon, D-Generation X, Triple H (as "The Game" and "The Cerebral Assassin"), Mick Foley and his three different personas, Kurt Angle, Kane, the Satanic-like Undertaker and his Ministry of Darkness, APA, Val Venis, The Godfather, etc. If you count WCW, then you can't leave out the greatest (or at least tied with Austin/McMahon as the greatest) angle in wrestling history, the New World Order. The NWO is what first got me into wrestling, and along with Austin vs The Boss, no other angle since then (or before then) has quite captured that same magic and feeling of specialness as that one did.

If we're going with the greatest times to be a fan when the ring work was at it's most superb on top of having good/great characters (since the AE didn't have the greatest matches in terms of pure wrestling ability), then 2000-2005/06 from the tail end of the Attitude Era through the majority of the Ruthless Aggression Era is what you want. Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, RVD, Rey Mysterio, Chris Jericho, etc. all tearing it up. Austin's best time for ring work as far as his Stone Cold days were concerned were in 2001 as well.

Yes. There were just so many great characters in that era between the "Big 3". A lot of people today discount Goldberg, but he was so hugely over that the Goldberg chants at WWF events weren't mocking Ryback, they were in hopes that Goldberg might make some sort of surprise appearance in a WWF ring.

Also, those were the times before Cena, Orton, and Batista.... in my opinion that alone makes it the best time!
