At WrestleMania 25, John Cena will be entering his 5th straight WrestleMania main event, an accomplishment that little to no other men have accomplished. In 5 out of his 6 WrestleMania's he has been apart of he has been in either the World or WWE title matches. John Cena hasn't been at a WrestleMania and not competed for a championship. Out of all of John Cena's WrestleMania performances, which one of his matches were his best performances?

Although his selling was pretty bad in the match, I still think his match with HBK @ 23 is the best. And then just when I thought they couldn't top that, they do just that the next night on Raw.

I just watched that match Peepshow earlier tonight and the only thing I remembered from that match was Cena's horrible selling of the leg injury. When I saw that live I was freaking out thinking he was really injured. He played that so well it wasn't good at all. He took it way too far. Other than that on HBK's end, he had phenomenal wrestling. He out wrestled Cena the whole match but Cena just kept throwing Braden Walker type clotheslines that killed his momentum.

Just for the sake that I loved WrestleMania 21...I vote Cena vs. JBL. The build up to that match was epic and I am still pissed that wasn't the main event.

^Yeah, the buildup for JBL/Cena was epic. I was looking forward to that match the most on that Mania.

It wasn't really that. That part of his was actually good. It's the fact that later on in the match, he wasn't selling it at all.

:lmao @ people voting for his match with JBL. I thought this was his BEST performance thread.

My personal favourite was his match with HBK, but I would have to say that his best performance came against Triple H. Just a year earlier he was probably the most popular wrestler in the company and won his first world title. At the time it looked like he was going to become the next Rock or Austin. Fast forward to one year later, and most of those cheers had now turned to boo's, and the people that were once behind him were now saying how much he sucked.

Wrestlemania 22 was the biggest match of his career to that point, and with the amount of hate he had towards him at a time when he was supposed to be the top face in the company, there had to be a great deal of pressure on him. Yet he went into that match and didn't let it faze him one bit. That was the match that basically said he was going to be the man in the WWE for a long time. Despite the fact that he had the majority of the people in the building booing him when he was the face, he was still able to put on a very solid performance.

I would agree Wrestlemania 23 was the best, but they eclipsed that performance with the "unplanned" 40-minute Ironman Match the following evening. How could it be? I'm not complainin' but it's as if they saved the best for London!

It was actually about an hour if I remember correctly. And yeah, I think someone didn't show up, so they had to make the match like an hour. What a great match. There were like 6 commercials during it. :lmao

That could be it. I'm not exactly certain though. Seems around the right time period.

No doubt this one has to go to WM23 V HBK. That match still rules, in my opinion. HBK carried the match I think to the standard a few people talk about it (myself included). But this match had everything going into the hype - great hype of the friendship & rivalry between HBK/Cena, the 'big time player' HBK taking on the 'new kid', "old school V new school" angle were all run greatly!

the match did not let down either - again HBK carrying a majority of this. He brought his a-game hype and ability. it had everything too: counters, sneak pins, submission, kicking out of finishers, a referee down, steel stair spike piledriver! Everything in this match was awesome, and knowing that Cena didn't sell the leg injury well, and how pissed HBK was just topped it off for me.

Cena V JBL - shocking. good build up to it, but a poor match. didn't do anything for Cena as such, the match, didn't build him up. 10 minutes of jbl beating him down and then he gets the shock win. woo, great.

Cean V HHH - close runner up! the hype was done poorly, but was still there. this one's second due to the sheer fact that Cena was set as a super-human, and Trips was 'i want the title back, and im gunna fuck Steph to get it'. big upset, and in general a great match which really pulled the crowd in.

cena v show - typical WM opening match. Again, similar to Cena/JBL but with a lesser title on the line. good though, for building his mid-card status.

cena V HHH V RKO - Great match, but still has nothing on Cena/HHH or Cena/HBK. I really only remember Orton dominating this match. Cena has his little bits, here and there, but nothing flash. more likely this would happen, when you've got two top tier guys to contend with...

WM21 - Poor Match
WM22 - Have yet to watch it.
WM23 - Great match tainted by the fucked-up selling.
WM24 - Played a 'supporting' role.

In all honesty, whilst I'm not a Cena-hater, there's not a great deal to choose from.

Rediculous as it may seem , by default I'll go for the match with HHH... AND I HAVEN'T EVEN SEEN IT!!!
