The dispute with Rock isn't in-ring vs character work, it's more "21st century" lol granted it's not like he had a lot of years in the 90s either tho, just had a short, crazy popular career bc he became a movie star instead

Rock was active 2000-2003, had one match in 2004, and has had 8 matches since 2004 (one of which was an 8 second match with Erick Rowan).

I mean don't get me wrong it damn sure was some good shit we got from Rock the past 20 years, but no way in hell can it beat someone like Ospreay.

if only people used logic like this for Austin who should have never gotten out of the first round for the exact same reason (but i think had less matches and less of an active career than Rock) but ppl just HAD to ignore the criteria and vote with their hearts instead of their brains
