Great American Bash name change

-- WWE has reportedly re-named the Great American Bash pay-per-view. It is now simply being called The Bash.

A reader sent word that Comcast employees were notified on Friday via e-mail to update their marketing material for the pay-per-view.

The Bash takes place on June 28th at the ARCO Arena in Sacramento, California.

Seems odd, but I guess it allows them to hold it outside of the USA at some point.

yeah it F'd up like Vengence is now the night of champions why couldent they just call it VENGENCE "Night of Champions" like first time they didnt need to delete Vengence it was a kickass name

well i check wwe.com and it is offical. Hmm, this ppv name is more weaker than extreme rules.

unsure why they change the name tho. Great American Bash sounds better than "The Bash"

um, yeah..... major fail


look someone probably said it right the first time......its so that they aren't limited to US locations for the show (even though like 98% of TV/PPV events take place in the US)

But there could be an aditional reason. Lets not forget that the Great American Bash name was not created by Vince McMahon. To this day I'm still amazed that Vince even agreed to name the PPV that. To use something so strongly attached to WCW & originating with the NWA? Seems odd for Vince. However I agree that they could have done something better then "The Bash"

I would have moved No Mercy to its spot, and stop this nonscense of 14 PPV's and take it down to at least 13...however if they still want to have 14, then bring back Halloween Havoc (even though same issue as Great American Bash)
