Godofredo Pepey vs. Noad Lahat slated for UFC Fight Night 38 in Brazil
A featherweight bout between Godofredo Pepey (9-3 MMA, 1-3 UFC) and promotional newcomer Noad Lahat (7-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) is the latest addition to next month’s UFC Fight Night 38 event.
UFC officials today announced the bout.
UFC Fight Night 38 takes place March 23 at Ginasio Nelio Dias in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. The bulk of the card airs on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on UFC Fight Pass.
Pepey was a runner-up on “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil,†but following a loss to Rony Jason in the tournament final, he’s now lost three of four fights in the UFC. The Brazilian, whose only UFC victory came via split decision over Milton Vieira, is now in a must-win situation following back-to-back TKO losses to Felipe Arantes and Sam Sicilia.
Lahat, just the second Israeli-born fighter in UFC history (Moti Horenstein, 1996-1997), currently fights out of American Kickboxing Academy in California. The Brazilian jiu-jitsu and judo black belt is a six-year pro who owns six stoppages (four submissions) in seven career victories. He most recently earned a decision victory over journeyman Shad Smith at “BAMMA USA: Bad Beat 10″ in August.
