I don't want to make this political, but this seems like the wrong hill to die on. So instead of just wearing a mask the guy probably is banned from the place. I work retail, and people go nuts over the masks.

Rules are rules sadly. Rather you agree with them or not. If the place says wear a mask, and you want service, you wear a mask.

Yeah honestly I'm not a big mask guy at all, but to me it's not really that big of a deal. I work 8 hours a day wearing one, it sucks but it is what it is.

If you don't like masks you're not alone I doubt anyone does, but if you just have to wear one for 5 minutes while you go into a store to get some food then just do it. You can take it off as soon as you leave.

I honestly kind of want this to be the standard in the future. Thinking about germs etc, I think it only makes sense to wear a mask in stores. I prefer not having some random person sneeze on me.

My favorite thing is when people think that a business refusing service due to not wearing a mask is equivalent to refusing service bc someone is black or something when the real equivalent would be "No shirt, no shoes, no service"

I like turning it back on people like that. I say to them well do it for people who are worried about being sick. Then they'll prove how selfish they are because there's no answer they give that can not make them look like an ignorant asshole.

Really? From my experience they go straight to "proof" that masks don't actually do anything so those people shouldn't worry or something.

Which is a conversation to be had, but once you get to the point of raging about a mask (whether they work or not), nothing productive will come from it

Oh no trust me they flip out, but I'm saying it proves how silly they are. I work retail, and people like that end up just looking ridiculous. I have been working non stop since the start of this, I've only had 3 guys who have totally lost it on me about masks. I live in Massachusetts though so we are pretty damn on point with mask wearing for the most part.

"Masks don't do anything" is such a bullshit argument though. There is literally verifiable proof that it cuts down the particle count by a considerable amount; which is the entire point. It does not 100% eliminate the threat, but it considerably removes the chance that infection is possible.

I wish I was lucky, I live in *heavy* Trump country, so half the town doesn't wear masks, goes out to parties, and acts like they know everything. I still wonder how we haven't all been infected yet.
