Old and new collide on the set of Girl Meets World lwhere many of the stars from the original series, Boy Meets World, stop by the set to show their support for the new series by Michael Jacobs.

Ryder Strong, William Daniels (who is reportedly reprising his role as Mr. Feeny), Will Friedle, and Maitland Ward reconnected with their former co-stars Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel, who are reprising their roles as Cory and Topanga Lawrence in the new series.

On the March 20th visit to Sunset Gower Studios, the former Boy Meets World stars also met the fresh, new faces of the franchise, including Rowan Blanchard (Riley Matthews), Sabrina Carpenter (Maya Fox), Teo Halm (Elliott Matthews) and Corey Fogelmanis (Shamus Farkle).

It is so exciting to see the reunion of familiar faces and get to know the new cast! Filming for the pilot of Girl Meets World has now wrapped and we are left anxiously waiting news regarding the future of this sequel to the 90?s T.G.I.F favorite.

In the meantime, launch the gallery and live vicariously through the cast and crew. What are you most looking forward to in this new series?

Fans of the original series will be happy to know that there are further plans for an official cast reunion. In fact, there is a reunion at ATX Television Festival in Austin, Texas this summer. Stars of the show, Ben Savage, Ryder Strong, Matthew Lawrence and Maitland Ward will join the series creator, Michael Jacobs, for an intimate reunion, 13-years after the show ended its 7-year run.

You may hate Girl Meets World though because it'll be on Disney Channel.

However, they've reassured everyone in an interview that they will keep the realism that Boy Meets World had with GMW as well and not the usual "crap" Disney Channel has today. So, it might be a hit. I'm still staying positive about this as I've stated on the very first post of this thread about a few months ago.

"How will the show be different than Boy Meets World considering it’s for Disney Channel, which has a different target audience than ABC?"

Boy Meets World executive producer Michael Jacobs:
"That is not going to influence what the tone and quality will be of the show. I’m hoping parents who grew up with the original Boy Meets World will put their children in front of this because they know what we’re going to do. The world is different today. Even in the 20 years since Boy first premiered, there have been so many changes in the lives of children and how they grow and what they have been exposed to on the television screen, the movie screen and the computer screen. That influenced why we couldn’t cast a 13-year-old because it seemed to me we were coming into the middle. It seemed to me there wasn’t much to learn at 13, which was sad to me in a way. What I’m hoping is that the freshness of this will be a girl at her absolute cusp of being able to be influenced by these surrounding forces. Cory, who has been nothing but confused all his life, will try to impress upon his daughter that he knows what he’s doing now and she will see right through that. That’s going to be one of the primary relationships within the show. Topanga’s observation and realization that neither of them know truly what they’re doing, and that it’s not an easy world to raise a child in, is what makes this show great for right now."

Idk, some of those Boy Meets World eps got a little too heavy for my taste.

Remember when that girl was getting her ass whooped by her Dad, she came to Cory and Cory was helping her keep it a secret and then his parents found out?

Yeah, there were a lot of things with death and parental unattachment as well that I can't believe were on Disney Channel at one point. I actually loved all of it as a kid because I guess I was into watching that sort of thing. I don't think GMW will be as heavy as BMW was though.

I don't remember watching those eps when I was younger, only noticed them when I re-watched the series when it aired on MTV2

Some of the eps around the time Shawn's Dad dies are pretty gut wrenching
