Hey, it's an Ghostbusters 3 update, meaning someone asked Dan Aykroyd about the movie while he's out and about promoting that Crystal Head vodka of his. What's new? According to Aykroyd, the movie is shooting early next year. At least, he thinks so.
"I feel re-encouraged, reinvigorated by the pages that I have seen," Aykroyd told ABCNews (via Bleedingcool). "I know that we're expecting half of the screenplay to be completed very soon. It should be into production by the fall and be shooting by the new year."
As for the plot of the third movie, we can only assume it will still involve the original ghostbusters passing their proton packs to a younger generation, but whatever happens in the movie will be based on scientific facts.
"I won't say anything, it's very exciting. The Higgs boson and the particle theories, gluons and mesons, that really gives us a scientific base in terms of our fictional storytelling, to open up to another dimension and have something horrible come through," Aykroyd said.
And no, Bill Murray is still not doing the movie, but Aykroyd is convinced that had he read his second draft of the script, Murray would beg, BEG!, to be in the movie.
"If he'd read the second draft that I completely rewrote, he would be doing the movie," Aykroyd said. "If he'd read that draft. The part I wrote for him."
So until Aykroyd is doing another vodka promo, that's all the Ghostbusters 3 updates for now.
No Bill Murray no movie. This is still in limbo hell. Dan always trying to sell something before its official. Don't think this will be made.
