A judge has told a cold-blooded killer "I hope you die in prison", after she laughed during a statement from her victim's family.
Camia Gamet was handed a life sentence after she was convicted of killing her boyfriend Marcel Hill, in what Judge John McBain described as "one of the worst cold-blooded murders he's ever seen".
WJBK reports that Gamet, from Michigan in the United States, stabbed her former lover 11 times during a horrific attack two years ago.
As she was sentenced this week Mr Hill's aunt addressed the court, but Gamet was seen rolling her eyes and "snickering" during her statement.
She then interrupted the emotional speech to say "is that it?".
That appeared to be one step too far for Judge McBain, who intervened saying: "You're going to shut your mouth or I'm going to have some duct tape put on it.
"I hope you die in prison. If this was a death penalty state, you'd be getting the chair."
Gamet claims she acted in self defence, and her lawyers plan to appeal her sentence.
