According to documents posted on the Federal Trade Commission website, the FTC is no longer investigating Zuffa, LLC for the purchase of Strikeforce. The FTC began looking into the acquisition of Strikeforce in early 2011, as concerns came about whether it was legal or not.

"The Commission has closed its investigation into Zuffa LLC and Explosion Entertainment LLC (parent company of Strikeforce)," Mitchell Katz, Senior Public Affairs Specialist at the FTC, said. "The closing letters are on our Commission website under commission closing letters. That's all we are going to have to say on this one."

Zuffa now owns and operates Strikeforce under the same rules as the UFC, locking up the two major MMA organizations in the U.S. The FTC was looking into a possible violation of Section 7 of the Clayton Act or Section 5 of the Federal Trade Commission Act.
