Former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir has remained pretty quiet since pulling out of a planned fight in Strikeforce with Daniel Cormier earlier this year. Mir was set to become the first fighter in the UFC to cross-over into Strikeforce before an injury suffered in training."Through training, I guess I stepped wrong, kinda had the wrong shoes on I think that day," said Mir, during a recent interview on Fuel TV. "I wasn't going to skip training and ended up slicing my meniscus on my other leg that was the good knee, so I just had to go in and have it pulled out."

Mir said he "feels great now. I'm 100-percent healed." He added that welcoming Cormier to the UFC "would be great."

Cormier is currently set for Strikeforce's last show in January, taking on Dion Staring at Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine.

I'm still interested in this fight honestly, see it happening in March or so when Cormier is contracted to the UFC. Also want to see Josh Barnett back in the UFC this year at some time.

I really cant see Mir putting up much of a fight, he's so slow thesedays and Cormiers wrestling pedigree will allow him to just throw Mir around whose only real chance is getting a sub after Cormier takes him down. It'll pad Cormiers record pretty well with Mir still having plenty of name value though.

All it takes is one second on the ground and Mir can slap on a sub and if he gets it locked... its tap or snap. On the feet... yeah Frank is at a disadvantage, he will get taken down but once on the ground... anything can happen so I wouldn't fully count Mir out.

Mir doesn't do well against wrestlers on the ground, he an be controlled on the ground, but Cormier better know sub defense to make sure he doesn't brainfart and get tapped. Beating up on Mir would be a good intro to UFC fans.

Every fight of his I think he can bust out a sub and tap the guy, but he ends up doing dumb shit like standing up vs JDS and Carwin.

Expcting the same here, Cormier will blast his chin off too and make him do stanky legs.

Big Nog made him do the stanky leg and wound up with a broken arm in the end.

Would be a good first fight for Cormier in the UFC. Good way to introduce him to fans and show what he can do. He should be able to defeat Frank Mir but you never know as Mir could actually follow a good gameplan and try to go for submissions rather than stand.
