The UFC just announced an intriguing business deal that will ensure expanded viewership over the next few years.

The powerhouse promotion signed a two year distribution deal with Fox Sports Latin America on Thursday. The deal will see UFC content distributed exclusively by Fox Sports in 18 Latin American countries.

The contract takes effect immediately, as UFC 133 (which takes place this Saturday) will mark the first event to be distributed by Fox Sports Latin America. The network intends to air 24 live UFC events per year.

Check out a few quotes from the official press release below:

“We felt the time was right to expand in Latin America. We launched with Globosat in Brazil in 2008 and saw the popularity [of the] sport explode. We knew we had millions of fans in Latin America and wanted to give them access to content and programming developed exclusively for them.â€￾ stated UFC president, Dana White.

Fox Sports executive Patrick Ilabaca expressed his pleasure with the deal, stating, “We are excited to be able to bring our viewers a front row seat to the fastest growing sport in world. Through our agreement with the UFC, mixed martial arts fans throughout Latin America will for the first time be able to watch live UFC events exclusively on FOX Sports.â€￾
