Not a big racing game fan myself with the exception of a few here or there but my friends who enjoy the Forza series say they're pretty psyched for it so it should be pretty good.

Yep. Forza 5 sucked. The handling in particular was dreadful, didn't feel responsive or realistic in the slightest.
Gran Turismo 7 will be out late 2015/early 2016.
