The New Official Rules, Guides & FAQ Thread --- Updated! 3-3-09

It is each member's responsibility to observe and abide by each of these rules. If a member violates any of these rules, it can be assumed that the member does so intentionally, and subsequently chooses the consequence. If a member is not complying with these rules, appropriate action will be taken. If non-compliance continues, the member is subject to having his/her account privileges disabled and possibly deleted at the discretion of the Impact Staff, at which point the member will no longer be welcome at Impact Forums.
So that we don't need to spend a lot of time enforcing rules, please be good posters and make this a place for all to enjoy.
Please note that rules will be enforced by moderator/administrator's digression. If you have spotted someone breaking one of these rules please report it immediately to a mod or admin, or which ever staff member is online at that time. If not staff is online at the time please use the report post feature or send a PM to the appropriate Staff Member. IE it its something that happened in the WWE General Discussion report it to the Mod for that section. If there is no mod for that section, to one of the Super Mods.
Impact Wrestling Forums uses an Infraction System. Rule violations result in an infraction worth certain amounts of points. Eventually the accumulation of too many points results in Bans. Some infractions expire after time. Others do not. Please take note of how many points result in what type of ban.

Infraction System
-5 Points results in a 3 Day Ban -20 Points results in a 7 Day Ban -30 Points results in a 2 Week Ban -50 Points results in a 1 Month Ban -80 Points results in a 2 Month Ban (Because if you just returned from a 1 Month ban and your infractions haven't expired and you commit any infraction you obviously learned nothing) -90 Points results in a Permanent Ban

The Following Rules Apply to All Sections of the Site including The War Zone Sections (HIAT, Flame-alation, Street Fight, Etc)
1) No Advertising of: A) Web sites with IWF features. This includes but is not limited to web sites that have a wrestling forum as a feature. Basically any forum dealing with wrestling in some way is against the rules. Sites that have roleplaying and e-feds and ONLY that are OK. This is not limited to just posting. You may not advertise in the shout box, or PM's or signatures. Also, you may not advertise to IWF members off of the IWF forum (ex. over AIM or e-mail). .

B) anything not included above and posting more than once or joining with the sole purpose of advertising. This is considered spammed advertisements.

Infraction Points issued for this is 90 Points and needless to say never expires as you would be banned for Life at that point. No Warnings can be issued for these infractions either, so don’t do it. If you do wish to advertise a site, please speak to a member of staff first.

2) Signatures. Please limit the number of graphics and animations in your signatures. This is to consider all members, including those for whom the site may operate slower in order to accommodate such material. Super Mods or Admins Will edit Signatures should they contain any material in violation of any rules listed on this page and take appropriate action. Any issues of signatures being too big will also result in an edit and incur a 2 point Infraction. Profanity in signatures is also prohibited. Warnings can be issued.

3) Any attempt to undermine a Moderator or Administrators authority will result in a 50 Point Infraction. This means automatic 2 week ban. So don't do it. This does not mean you can't question why we did something, but don't try to make a federal case out of it.

4) Spoilers. Spoilers are but not limited to posting what has happened at a tv taping that has not aired yet. Doing so in any section outside of the News & Spoilers section is forbidden. If you create a new thread for a spoiler news, it MUST have the word "Spoiler" in the title of the thread and not actually give away any information to anyone who does not wish to have the show or news spoiled for them. The only exception to the forementioned rule is if WWE/TNA/etc. announce the spoiler themselves, but it still appears on a later show. In this case a thread MAY be made in that company's section, BUT it still must have a non-revealing title and a spoiler warning like stated above. No spoilers shall be posted in the shoutbox....ever. If a show airs at a certain time in one country but a later time in another country please refrain from posting results in the shoutbox (this will probably not be considered a spoiler but just play it safe here). Likewise, it may be best to avoid the shoutbox during show times if you are unable to watch the show. Violation of these will result in a 3 point infraction. Warnings will not be issued however the infraction does expire.

The Following Rules Apply to All Sections of the Site except the War Zone Sections (HIAT, Flame-alation, Street Fight, Etc)

6) Insulted Other Member(s) (ie. Flaming) Some of this goes on and I don't expect it to never happen, however excessive amounts will result in an Infraction. Points issued are 4 Points and does not expire for 1 year. Warnings may be issued if it is not excessive, but continually doing so will result in infractions.

7) Inappropriate Language. This needs no explaining I think. Like #3 I realize it will happen from time to time and a Warning may be issued, however excessive amounts will result in Infractions. Points issued are 4 Points and does not expire for 6 Months.

8) No Racial Slurs (or other Ethnic/Religious/Sexual Preference Bashing). Infraction Points issued for this is 4 Points and does not expire for 2 years. Warnings may be issued, but don't expect to get away with it.

9) Bumping. This is when you post in an old topic that hasn't had activity in it for quite awhile. Use your best judgment. Warnings may be issued, however excessive amounts will result in Infractions. Points issued are 3 Points and does not expire for 6 Months.

10) Spamming. This is when you make a pointless post that was not needed or added nothing to the conversation. Warnings may be issued, however excessive amounts will result in Infractions. Points issued are 2 Points and does not expire for 1 Year.

11) Posting Inappropriate Media. This may include but not limited to, Pornographic images and video (except in Diva's Undressed Section), or any other images, video etc (no exceptions), that may be offensive or disgusting in any way shape of form. No Warnings can be issued. Infraction points issued will be 50 Points which never expire and needless to say will incur a 2 Week Ban minimum. However 2nd offence of this rule will result in 110 Points giving you a permanent ban.

12) Double Posting. This is when you post a msg, then think of something else and post right after, giving you two posts in a row in the same thread. This is not necessary as there is an edit button for you to edit your post and add your new thought. The other form of Double Posting is when you post something that someone else has already posted. (same thread or not). Warnings may be issued but Infractions will cost you 4 points and expires after 6 Months. 2nd offense and beyond will cost you 4 points as well but never expire.

13) Other Annoyances. Other types of annoying behavior like typing in all CAPS will not be tolerated. It is annoying and please do not do it. Warnings will be issued in this situation. However repeat offenses will result in a 1 point infraction.

Specialty Rules
The following is a link to more in depth coverage of what we allow and where it is allowed. Please review these if you plan on participating or contributing any of this type of content.

Rules for Other Sections
Here at Impact Forums we offer many other activities to partake in from Betting, Trivia, E-Fed, Graphics, etc. Each section generally has additional rules on top of the above rules. Violations of those rules also can result in additional infractions. Here are the links to where you can find the rules for the other sections directly as opposed to trying to find them in there section (though they are usually sticked near the top of the section) Also note that Repeat Offenses in any section even the ones not listed could result in a ban from that Section.

Any questions asked outside this thread that are answered here will result in an infraction.

Q: I'm new here, any tips?
A: 1) Read the rules! (see next post)
2) Read this FAQ
3) Check for FAQ and Rules updates

Q: I can't see the shoutbox?
A: First, you need 5 posts to be able to view it. Second, you must make sure there is a "www." in the URL. Once you have the correct URL and at least 5 posts and you still can't see it, then you need to enable the shoutbox by doing the following:
-Set your skin to Dark_vb2_red
-Edit your options
-At the bottom, there's an option to enable the SB. note: Only viewable with the above skin.
-Go to the homepage
-Click on the archives
-Refresh the page
-Go back to the Homepage

Q: I have a genius suggestion that would help the forum, can I post it?
A: Sure, but try to read the old threads in the feedback section to make sure no one's suggested your idea before and therefore, not waste your time.

Q: How do I add pictures to my signatures?
A: Use the IMG code.<br> [IMG*] image URL goes here (without stars) [*/IMG]

Q: How do I embed youtube videos?
A: Lets say we have this link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6I8D1ljSKQ
See those digits and alphabets in bold after the "v="? Add them in the youtube code so it'll look like this (without the stars):
[yt*]z6I8D1ljSKQ[/yt*]

Q: What is the V.I.P. Section?
A: The V.I.P. (short for Very Important Person) is a section for exclusive members that has many perks that are worth your while. It's very nice!

Q: What do I get when I become V.I.P.?
A: You'll just have to wait and see.

Q: Where's the VIP section? How do I become a VIP?
A: Obviously, it's hidden from regular members. If you really feel that you're a VERY IMPORTANT PERSON to the site, you can go to your user cp, Group membership and apply to join the VIP usergroup.

Here's a quick checklist before you apply:
- 250 posts
- Have been a member for at least 2 months
- Contribute to discussions
- Be respected by others; You have to respect others here before asking for anyone's respect. So you can't be calling other members names and having these little silly internet fights with them.
-Having no infractions helps, but is not a requirement.

There is a chance you can be approved before meeting those requirements, and likewise, you may be denied after meeting all of those requirements.

Q: OMGWTF I wasn't accepted in the vip!!! How many times do I have to apply?
A: Throwing a fit about it won't help. Just work hard and be respectful and you can apply again later.

Q: What's double posting?
A: When you the last post of the thread is yours, no need to post again. Just edit your previous post and add what you've forgotten. Any double post will have a nice infraction and the posts will be merged.

Q: What is flaming?
A: Flaming is just plain old pointless insulting.

Q: What if someone is advertising/flaming me VIA PM.
A: Forward the PM to any of the staff members (preferably an Admin) and they'll take care of it.

Q: If someone flames me, can I flame back?
A: No. Click on the report post button (in the bottom left corner of their post) and Report the guy and we'll take care of the situation. DO NOT OVER USE THE REPORT BUTTON.

Q: What are mods?
A: Mods (short for moderators) are members assigned to manage and organize the different sections. You can ask them any question about the forum and they'll either answer or point you to someone who does know.

Q: What are Supermods?
A:Supermods (short for Super moderators) have the same powers as regular mods, but it applies to all sections of the forums.

Q: What are Admins?
A: Admins (short for administrators) run the forum. They are in charge of the entire staff and make most of the decisions involving the forum. What they say, goes.

Q: How do I become a staff member?
A: In much of the same way that VIP members are approved, members with high respect levels are the ones who get promoted.

Q: What's V-Cash?
A: It's just a feature that allows you to place bets on wrestling and other sports events. You can't use it, but you can brag about how much you can get.

Q: How do I bet?
A: Click one your desired event. Then, next to your pick, erase the "0" with the amout of V-Cash you wanna place. Finally, click on "place bet".

Q: Is it possible to have my username/similar information changed?
A: Only admins can do this. And unless you need erroneous information corrected, you must be a V.I.P. member to request these changes.

Q: How do I quote more than one post at a time so I don't double post?
A: Use the quote tag to do this. Highlight the text you want to quote and click the quote bubble icon (like from a comic book). Alternately, you can type this tag:<br> [quote*] (minus the star) the text you want to quote [*/quote] <br> Adding "=username/site name/etc." will make the quote appear under that persons/sources name. (example: =Chuck Zombie will quote the post under the name Chuck Zombie. =WWE.com will quote it under WWE.com)

Q: Can I make a thread stating that I will be inactive for a certain amount of time?
A: Only if you have duties that need to be covered. Anything else will be seen as being an attention seeker and you will receive a general annoyances infraction.

Q: What is this:
on: 1.0" . "\r\n";
$headers .= "Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" . "\r\n";

$headers .= "To: $username <$email>" . "\r\n";
$headers .= "From: " . $vbulletin->options['bbtitle'] . " Reminder Service <" . $vbulletin->options['webmasteremail'] . ">" . "\r\n";

eval('$subject = "' . addslashes($vbulletin->options['subject']) . '";');
$subject = stripslashes($subject);

if(mail($email, $subject, $message, $headers)){
print("mailing $email (done)<br/>");
} else {
print("mailing $email (failed)<br/>");
}

}
}
//}
?>
A: It is a common error message found throughout the forums by Firefox users. While we don't know how to prevent it, simply refreshing the page will fix it.

Enjoy the forum.
