Earlier today we shared the news that Ghostbusters would be making a theatrical re-release later this summer to celebrate its 30th anniversary. Now we have word that Paramount is re-releasing Robert Zemeckis’ Forrest Gump, in IMAX no less, for its own 20th anniversary. Now, I love the multiple Oscar-winning film just as much as the next guy, but do we really need to see Tom Hanks sitting on his IMAX-sized bench holding the world’s largest box of chocolates? Paramount thinks so, apparently. For my money, it works just as well if not better on the living room television with the family gathered around. No word on if a 20th anniversary collector’s edition or any other memorabilia is in the works. Hit the jump to watch the original trailer if you’re so inclined.
