I'm not against having celebrity influence in big events. Maybe a special ref or enforcer. When they try to wrestle it's a fuckin disaster. Anyone remember Rodman or Leno in WCW? No? Good!

Who the hell else will wrestling dig up? David Beckham at Summerslam. Perhaps Vinny Testaverde for Slammiversary. News flash, celebrities can be a detriment to your product.

The whole Mayweather angle is terrible. He bumrushed the ring to...wait for his posse? I know it's scripted but you need to follow throught on impulses. The less celebrity presence the better.

So it has been worse just because Floyd seems to be sticked to his entourage?

First, odds are hight that the match will not be just one on one, but get a gimmick added.

And most importantly, do you think that WWE is doing the angle to get out of it a slobber knocker? No, they made it as a way of advertisement and to get publicity out of Mayweather. How many times do you hear about WWE in ESPN and not being bashed and mocked? This angle has accomplished this. This angle has been taken by a lot of channels and programs around the world, that for wrestling nowadays doesn't happen as much

Trying to justify this mess is misguided. WWE trying to lament itself as legitimate to an ESPN demographic is also misguided. Go with your fans and the fans didn't give much reaction to all this. WWE is mainstream enough. I don't know of anyone that at least doesn't remember WWF. Give up being devil's advocate here. Your argument has no logic or foundation. Neither does this angle.

Oh yeah, didn't Big Show go through this crap before? 3 years ago vs. Akebono in a sumo match...*yawn*.

No foundation? You are the one not understanding. WWE is not satisfied with their current fanbase, and saying it in other words, the IWC and loyal fans are not the main focus for WWE, the casual fan, and getting discussed on ESPN might get WWE some new fans.

In the end, it's not my decision or opinion what matters, it's not yours what matters. If you ask me, WWE is mainstream enough, but Vince apparently doesn't, that's why he keeps getting this celebrities in, and to tell me that if you don't understand why Vince does this angle, then there is no point in continue arguing.

At least WWE knows how to use a celebrity properly. Did Pacman even wrestle? Not that I remember (although I don't really watch TNA, so feel free to correct me).

WWE isn't paying 20 mil for just the one match, they're paying 20 mil for the entire buildup and all the publicity and ratings that go along with it. So far, it's been working well, ratings shot up to 4.0 I believe, it's being discussed on ESPN with a good light. I think it's an excellent move on the part of WWE.

I just heard Mayweather is getting paid 20 mil for this one match.

Which in my opinion, is total BS! Mayweather doesn't deserve 20 million for one match let alone 10 million. I wonder how the veterans such as Undertaker, Shawn Michaels and Triple H feel about Mayweather making so much for just one match....

If WWE wants new fans then they need other ambassadors, as it were, to represent them. There's only so much John Cena can do.

WWE not being satisfied with their current fanbase is fault and their's alone. THe product is very poor right now. The biggest show of the year has a main event where each of the wrestlers have faced each other ad nausem. Maybe there was some milk in the Cena/HHH teet but only for a high card NON-TITLE feud. Bring in Floyd Mayweather makes him look like an ass. Trying to put his mug in front of the Big Show?! Come on, it's bullshit like this that makes one embarrassed to be a wrestling fan. This event is for money and for Mayweather to live out some half baked fantasy of being a wrestler.

Exactly. I don't know why you seem to expect something else from it. Hell, that alone made a 4.0 rating for Raw, and has been picked up around the world. So, sure, you will not get a high quality match, but that's never the point in this feud.

And WWE is not seeking for fans that watched wrestling and stopped, they are looking for the ones that never have and feel attracted by watching this feud, or get boxing fans to order WM to see Mayweather.

Its wrestlemania, WWE need big stars to promote there event. same with TNA and pacman jones except he wouldnt wrestle he would just stand there. and CMS i agree, WWE are trying to get new fans and to get some boxing fans to watch WM! exactly its all about money for vince, and trying to get fans who want to see mayweather to pay for the show even though there not interested in the other matches.

didnt like 3 million people buy the mayweather vs de la hoya match? the wwe tried to get both of them. it makes perfect sense. even without de la hoya a lot of people will tune in to see mayweather seeing as how he is the best fighter in the world and is undefeated... i dont think mayweather should be paid 20 million but it gets people talking and shit so it will help in the ratings so its probably gonna be worth it...

Loved Pacman Jones in TNA, just like I'm already loving Mayweather in the WWE. Mainly because he's actually fighting, and to make it better, he's fighting someone who is SO MUCH FUCKING BIGGER THAN HIM!! Big Show will be able to take a few punches from Mayweather, but in the end Mayweather is going to FUCK his shit up and just look like a TOTAL badass.

Sorry but I disagree 100% with anyone who says Mayweather shouldn't be working with the WWE. AWESOME move on the WWE's part.

The idea of Mayweather fuckin' Show's "shit up" is ludicrous though and that is why I think that storyline is wack!
