Alright, so I finally had a go at making a sig after having PS for ages. Some PSD's wouldn't work for me due to them being damaged :)smh:), so that limited my choices. Anyway, I came up with this:

Please be honest but also tell me what's wrong with it. Don't just say, "It's shit." I will neg rep you for that. Good feedback = reppage.

I hope I didn't turn you blind.

decent selection of pics - ok font choice - no background = bad bad boy - You need color and effects to blend at least 2 of the pics into the BG and then have one pic in its original color standing out from the rest but still somewhat bringing the entire sig together. I'm sure with a few tries at some backgrounds and just getting an eye for what colors make sigs pop you'll be fine. Good luck.

It is a good attempt. Don't be afraid to use some blending options and try not to cover up images by others. You should not have the Main Central Picture Layer behind the others. the background is rather nothing, try downloading some C4Ds if you do not quite have the skill yet to produce a cool background. Also, with the C4D, perhaps distorting it and trying random things to see if anything looks cool. The colour choices are mediocre and I like the text. White seems like a good colour, despite it being simple and not that graphical.

If this really is your first attempt then E-High five to you, coz this is great for a starter. Check out some basic tutorials before moving on to something more difficult.

Welcome to the Graphics Section BKB, I feel really happy right now because you actually started Photoshop and tried something in there.

Now there are many things you need to work on, I assume you're not going to leave graphics anytime soon and are going to stick with us. Therefore work on them as much as you can and make yourself a proffessional at GFX. I'm going to help you the most I can.... but it all depends upon your creativity at the end of the day so be sure to experiment with your own creativity everytime you open up Photoshop.

Backgrounds, learn how to do some good basic brushing and combining everything for a good looking background; Tutorials are always available for you and they are always going to be helpful: http://impactwrestling.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26392

Text; I'm really happy that you've come up with good text from the start, this means you're going to come up with something better text next time... try to experiment with the blending options of the text, change the mode to Soft light and add a 1px-2px black stroke that would be decent looking.

Placement, you need to learn what to place and where to place it. Good GFX'rs will always plan out their ideas and then bring them to the table. First take five minutes out of your time and think what you can do with Photoshop, what you want to do with it and how you would do it. Plan out what you're going to do.

Next, browse through all the Tutorials in the HELP Section, Abdullah Al Hajri offers a basic tutorial along with one of my tutorials that I linked in this post.. all of this is going to help you.

As for this signature itself, you're off to a perfect start in my opinion and so continue doing graphics and work on every other aspect to perfection... 7/10

You should not have the Main Central Picture Layer behind the others.
Just I would like to point out something here Beer, a good advice for you and for BKB. It doesnt have to be the centre psd to have the focal point of the signature. It doesnt have to be. You can have several PSDs, like three psds in a signature for example, but you can make the one that is on the side as the main psd. Its just what you see is the best choice of psd that should stand out more as to what your graphical idea at that point is.

also, bkb.. on a side note: Umaga sucks :shifty:

New attempted sig (I use the term loosely). Tried to put some of the advice to use.

Edgecopy.jpg

I wasn't quite sure where the text should have gone in the end. It doesn't look like a bad spot to me, but you guys are the experts.

Advice plz.

EDIT: I thought I had a border, but I can't see it on this skin. Bah. =/

Looks pretty good tbh BKB. I think you should not have included the Edge on the right and instead move the main pic to the right and have the Action Shot smaller and to the left. The overlay effect looks good. Well done, you have improved.
