Mark from Agetec has gotten approval from SCEA. It will be for the PS2. The game will be translated to english and all the other goods. Slated for release late this year or early 08.

Personally im freakin hyped on this game to be converted because it has so much on it. 500 CAW spots, Edit refs, Rings, logos.

Typically yes, as well as international stars. However, with Fire Pro Returns, a lot of American WWE wrestlers have not been featured. However, some Indy guys like CM Punk, and Petey Williams are in the game to make up for it. Besides, the CAW in the game is so good you can essentially recreate whoever you want.

As to the news...freaking hell YES!!! I was considering buying a modchip, and imported copy of the game but now I don't have to at all!!! Damn, two years of waiting sure as hell pays off, and a release date this year as well probably which is just awesome. I seriously cannot wait for this.

What is Fire Pro Wrestling?, please Fill me in.

Essentially, it is THE wrestling game made for THE hardcore wrestling fans. Stars from just about every single promotion worldwide (at least the ones your ever going to hear about) are featured, with the names/costumes being changed to avoid copyright infringement (however there is usually a name/costume edit feature to fix everything so it really doesn't matter). The games have dated back to the SNES days and the series started in 1989. In 2001, Fire Pro hit the USA with a GBA release title Fire Pro Wrestling A. The game were talking about here, Fire Pro Wrestling Returns was released on the PS2 in 2005 and is FINALLY coming to North America which means not having to dealing with the Japanese language on your PS2. It has been rumored to be the last game in the series so this is kind of a big deal. While the graphics are ok, Gameplay is where the series truly shines. The control scheme is completly timing and stamina based, and takes a great amount of skill to master. It also isn't rare for matches to breech the 20 minute mark, so you can really get some epic dream match ups in all the fire pro games.

Anyway, I'm not good at explaining this so just search wikipedia for an in depth look at the series.

On a side note, does anyone have the name translations for Fire Pro Returns? I could probably figure out a majority of them, but its always easier to have a translation list like I did for Fire Pro A on the GBA (got it off wikipedia) so people don't have to decipher them. Anyway, if anyone has a link to one, or has the game and actually feels like typing it all out then please do so.

I'm bumping this. See my post above. If anyone can help us out with this then it could really help a lot of people who are first getting the game. I'm also really surprised this thread doesn't have many posts considering the release of Fire Pro Returns here in the US is going to blow the roof off SvR 08 quite frankly.
