Really, a finisher is called what it is because it's supposed to be the finishing move of the match. It used to be unthinkable to kick out of a pedigree, tombstone, stunner, etc. except in the rarest of circumstances. Now it happens at least two times in every PPV main event. What's the point of having finishers if they no longer mean anything special?

I just think it's something they do to liven up the crowd a little bit. It's a shame though when they use like 4-5 finishers each and they're still kicking out.

I just remember in the 90's the Hogan Leg drop, The sharp shooter, sweet chin music, Stunner. It all meant lights out besides at wrestlemania. Now a submission is a rope break 80 percent of the time.

I agree. I remember seeing Jericho make plenty of people tap out with the "Walls of Jericho" but now like you say it's just rope break.

Usually when Triple H hits the pedigree that means lights out. Unless you're Lesnar or Punk of course. :lol1:

I can't remember the last time Jericho won via the "walls of jericho" I think it was still called the "Lion Tamer"

I have absolutely no idea. They change their finishers and signature moves all the time. :lol1:

Kicking out of finishers add excitement to matches. You can just watch the end of an era match if you don't believe me.

I don't mind, personally I don't care about finishers. I think it's stupid that a match should be ended on a move because it's a "finisher." I liked the idea better as for example when CM Punk beat Daniel Bryan via superlex through table instead of GTS. And if Cena would have won via german suplex pin off the top rope as oppose to the FU. I like to see longer matches and unexpected wins, it adds more excitement and more unpredictably to the match to me.

Remembering HBK kicking out every single time. :yay:

But I agree, it is happening a lot. They should cut it to maybe using their finisher 2 times..
