Ring of Honor has been making significant financial cutbacks over the last week. Basically expenses have gotten too high, and the company will be cutting back on the number of performers per show and fly-ins. Some of the regulars will be missing shows on a rotation while major stars like Bryan Danielson, Austin Aries and ROH Champion Nigel McGuinness will be out the dates that they are booked in Japan.

- Another cut back is that Daniel Puder will no longer be used, at least for now. Part of it is the cost of his west coast fly-in, and that his ring work isn't at the level ROH feels it needs to be at for him to headline. Gabe Sapolsky is high on him though, and feels he has a star aura about him.

- The idea of moving to PPV was to help get the ROH name out more, increase attendance and DVD sales. That has not happened as of yet.

What do you guys make of this? Is it more hype that some fans are reading too much into? Perhaps they are making cutbacks to save up for perhaps a tv deal. Maybe they should scrap the ppv idea. (Taping 4 months earlier is a bad idea too)

As it meantions it hasnt helped business, YET. ROH is making some big moves, and i think this is mostly just to secure more money. They've signed 3 wrestlers despite firing puder.

As far as PPV goes, I think they need to figure out how to cut down the time between the show, and when it actually airs.

Does it really take them like 4 months to edit and shit?

I think they should tape a week ahead. They also need advertisements on tv shows. Maybe try and get a deal with ESPN. That will help ROH be better known as wrestling not sports entertainment

I Gotta agree ROH does need to make ther PPVS more up to date. i don't see why they can't tape the show a week in advance or at least try to do it within the same month.or before a DVD past that time gets released.

As for ROH not making more money its kind of a shock to me beings i am one of those people who started watching after there PPV deal and i asumed that there were a lot of other people as well.

I think they should scrap the PPV deal all together. If your not a TV, their isnt really a reason to have a PPV, at least imo. The majority of wrestling fans are not going to order something if they've never seen the product before.

I say scrap the PPVs. Since they havnt been doing anything for buisness I dont see why they keep them, plus, if they dont need to spend money on producing the PPVs, maybe they can spend some extra few bucks on improving the production values for the DVDs (that includes the sound, graphics, etc...)

I See the points made about scrapping the PPVS but i honestly don't wanna see that beings ROH PPVS are cheap and better than anything WWE or TNA puts out.

If you want ECW go to CZW show. They got a table with all the old shows converted onto a dvd. Don't buy the other dvds from the guy. He buys like one acutal dvd and hundreds of covers for them and then burns them over and over.
