Fightful: Many felt Vince McMahon no longer liked Bray Wyatt, more on his release
renderTimingPixel.png

Summary:

The creative team was told that Bray was cleared and and would be returning prior to his release and was at post Mania Raws
Randy Orton and others involved in the Mania match did not like the outcome or creative direction that took place. It was changed to what we saw two days before the show took place

There was never a true creative end game for the 6 month feud

WWE Superstars that approached Orton and Wyatt, saying they felt bad that the WrestleMania match was getting changed.
People backstage said that Wyatt was outspoken about bad creative and that they thought Vince disliked him because of it

Talent were told that he was fired due to budget cuts, but they knew that it was a lie.

Many long time stars said that they don't feel like their jobs are safe any longer, despite of their positions on the card or prior pushes.

feel free to add to OP as more news trickles out of the fightful report

I get that this is more substantial but idk I kind of already drew these conclusions myself as at least being decent possibilities so not even gonna pretend to be shocked lol I don't think anyone can even dispute that Vince and Wyatt had "creative differences" putting it nicely at this point. If doubt Wyatt was just shit talking creative like a bitch without first talking to Vince or whoever and being shot down. If he was, then bitch move there. Some of his ideas also don't seem the best so I can also see why he was shot down :lol

Oh and "budget cuts" is still funny, no surprise that's BS bc everyone says that day 1 with the merch sales dude had

Has there been credible sources as to what his ideas were (legit question btw)

The horror guy that makes the Fiend mask seems like a fairly independent party and he said Bray and WWE clashed over "live versions" of his puppets. Bray wanted to play them all himself, WWE wanted separate Superstars to do it. Both sound trash to me lmao but he was being talked to for designing masks so I don't think he'd lie or anything

interesting. i mean yeah im not super down with either ideas either lol. Im guessing thats just one of the things they clashed about I'm sure. One would assume having the rug pulled from under him every time he had any significant push storyline wise was prob stuff that was more argued about?

I mean if the ideas that Bray had for The Fiend initially are correct than I can understand that trepidation on creatives’s behalf.

But they definitely did kill the character the last 4-5 months with that Orton feud. No way it could’ve come back as a credible character

I don't know that this is true either tho lol the worst part about The Fiend for me was that they kept putting the title on him and then when he lost it his momentum was dead but he never should have feuded with Seth in the first place over the belt and then the Braun feud was just trash. This was all before the Orton feud where he missed extended periods of time on TV and you could argue creative was being stop and start with him and Alexa

cheers, I appreciate the facts here since this isn't my area of expertise. That sounds liek a painful experience to watch. so this is all before Oldberg squashed him?

I will say I called it when it happened...

The Fiend winning the belt off Rollins was the worst thing to happen to him. Over exposed the character. It should have never been a weekly thing

Nah I'd say that was the first time when him losing the belt killed his momentum but I'd argue he most definitely shouldn't have been Champion in the first place bc before Goldberg, his feud feud Seth successfully killed babyface Rollins, then killed babyface Miz lol only good part was the Bryan feud. And idk who's ideas those were, creative or his.

After Goldberg, the next i remember was the Braun feud which felt fairy cohesive....just also not a food angle lmao

He literally debuted as the Fiend and squashed Finn which everyone loved and them the VERY NEXT PPV was HIAC against Rollins lol character was doomed.

From Seth's own comments, that can be pinned on creative for sure tho

I mean...babyface Rollins killed himself on Twitter.

Babyface Miz was killed when he tapped out to Shane McMahon
