Fightful Select has learned that among names pitched or discussed for a WWE return include Braun Strowman. Strowman was released by WWE on June 2, 2022, just about nine months after holding the WWE Universal Championship that he won at 2020's WrestleMania.

Strowman had re-signed with WWE in 2019, landing a major seven figure, multi-year deal that has paled in comparison to some of the newer contracts WWE has handed out over the last year. He actually got down to the last few months of his deal, and sources in WWE said that he played "hardball" during his negotiations. In the year or so since leaving WWE, numerous talent have noted to Fightful that his comments on independent wrestlers rubbed them the wrong way, though at this point they weren't even sure if he meant it or was doing it to garner heat. Other sources within WWE complimented Strowman for looking "ring ready" physically, saying he looks better now than when he was in WWE.

Since his release, Strowman has only worked eight matches, with half of them being on Control Your Narrative shows. We've not learned if or how far negotiations have been, or what the specific pitches were involving him.

People of influence in WWE would not confirm when asked by Fightful, but also didn't deny it.

To reiterate, we can't confirm that he's headed back. Only that pitches have been made and that he's been discussed internally.

Wouldn't be surprised to see it. I remember being quite shocked to see his name with the releases way back, because if I remember right he'd just been in a big WWE title match and was quite high on the card. I lost interest in him towards the end, but he was pretty over at one point. Makes sense they'd be thinking about it at least.

Yeah same thoughts really. I can't really bring myself to be excited but seems more inevitable unless Braun just had some heat with Trips or some shit lmao lol

Also according to the last few weeks, does this mean we should just expect him tonight? Cause I swear that keeps happening with these stories lol

He was garbage after Reigns made him.

And now....I don't want to see this oblivious idiot on my TV.

We got a NEW Bron....a better one at that.

Guy was stupidly over at points so I can see why there would be interest there, i'm just not sure if they can capture that magic again with all that feats of strength stuff.

As the others has stated, that man was really over at one point in his career. I can honestly see why HHH wants him back in the company. Braun was doing well with the kids in the audience and actually put some smiles on their faces. He was one of the main people that should have never been let go in the first place.

He shouldn't have been let go, but I don't care if he comes back. I don't see him as a necessity.

He did go to shit after the fued with Roman. His antics on Social Media didn't help neither.

Well I guess we’ll see if he can get himself over again. If booked right, he probably can. The feud with Shane was one of the worst things for him, and I’m not gonna blame him for it. Story was shitty af.

Better get one of those belts off Roman. Seems to be a lot of new guys for basically just the IC or US title.
