Let's face it, much like any TV show, the right song/intro for a show can set the right tone and make you feel excited for the broadcast coming. Although retaining the same level of "hype" over a 2-3 hour broadcast is a different story. While theme songs for shows like Friends make you feel happy, CSI: Miami make you feel cool, or a horror show wants to make you feel on edge, Wrestling has a distinct need to make you feel ready to watch people (pretend) fight and have grudges. But, maybe we all have that one song either now or when we were just starting to watch Wrestling that makes you feel all that excited for a broadcast. If so, what is it? A certain Raw or Smackdown theme, or one for one of the dozens of third shows in WWE?

Here are a few I like that are perhaps not as typical as others I saw on the internet.

This is probably my favourite current roster song. It gives me an Attitude era theme and it is really high energy and heavy. Even if I am split on Slipknot songs (minus using a song as a theme for a character before) All out Life just works for NXT's underground image. Although I say it is on par to Resistance, the song they used before.

And another which was short-lived but I've genuinely liked and miss now is...

I didn't mind the last Papa Roach song they did, but "Born for Greatness" is just not doing it for me. But this song on the other hand, even if a Raw episode was going to be bad, at least this intro got me in the right mood to start. It is simply telling you about enemies, a rivalry. It fits for a wrestling show and was the right level of "heavy" to fit a Wrestling Show called Raw, but wasn't in your face about it. As for Smackdown, while I have songs I think are better intros than this, the next song I have is one example I wish stuck around a little longer.

Coming into existence for the Tenth Anniversary of Smackdown is it the greatest intro ever? No, but it was good. The intro worked and even if I don't care as much for the vocals, I just got the right feeling before an episode of Smackdown in an era which had just come off of a great feud with CM Punk and Jeff Hardy, with CM Punk beginning to morph into his Straight Edge version of Charles Manson, it had some promising stars like John Morrison and Drew McIntyre, and Undertaker's last world title run. Maybe it is nostalgia for me since I watched that Tenth-anniversary episode and saw my first Rock promo in years, but I wish it stayed for another year at least (beat the Green Day song they had after, and I'm a Green Day fan normally).

So what are some WWE show themes that have a special place in your black heart of a smark?

My favorite Raw theme of all time.

My favorite Smackdown theme of all time

I just really love NXT's theme being Slipknot.
