So a chat last night in the chat box made me think about this. We was talking about Pizza, and it was mentioned how local pizza places are the bet(which is true). But it’s also the case with other eating establishments.

So that got me thinking. What are some of your favorite local places for food? Rather it’s pizza, hotdogs, hamburgers, wings, etc.

A few I like.

Johnny Vs. they have lots of great food. Burgers, hotdogs, fries. Burgers are the main thing. Best burgers in town IMO. Love them.

Then we got Nu-Way. Their main focus is hotdogs but they also sell burgers as well as fries and a few other things.

Finchers BBQ is another AMAZING place. Really amazing BBQ. Just love it.

As far as pizza goes it’s Macon Pizza Company. Amazing cheese on the pizza, and that helps make a pizza honestly. Just a damn good place.

So let’s hear it! If you are eating local, what are you eating?

Texas got hella good local Mexican food trucks that most people don't even know the name of bc they're just called "the taco truck"

But El Jaliscience is the best tacos I've ever had, @Christmas Creature will probably back me up on that one

EDIT: I forgot :axe:

Can confirm. The Taco truck across from the burger joint is fantastic.

There’s a great burger place out here in San Diego called Hodads. They have awesome burgers and they have a few locations, their main one was featured on Guy Fieri’s Diners Drive In’s and Dives awhile back and there’s one at Petco Park where the Padres play.

Funky Fries and Burgers is another good burger place, only been there once but I liked it a lot even though it’s expensive af.

Alberts Fresh Mexican food is probably my favorite place to get Mexican food out here but I do like some other random places too.

I may make another post for all the places I enjoyed in Grand Forks and East Grand Forks but for now I'll just go with where I live now.

For Pizza, I really haven't found I place I really like. Barro's Pizza is the closest place that delivers but that it has never really wowed me. It's not bad though and I've ordered from them a few times. Maybe there are better ones downtown but I live too far from them to deliver.

I live pretty close to a What-A-Burger and it's only about 25 miles to In-And-Out which is a nice change of pace for burgers since they don't have that shit up north. I haven't tried any specific places that just do burgers or steaks here though. Probably because I love makin' my own burgers and steaks on a pretty frequent basis.

Mexican food is where it's at here though. My favorite place so far has been Anaya's, they really go all out and it's like 2 miles from me. I also enjoyed the hell out of Cafe Manuel which was much more basic but hey if ya can do simple Mexican food right at a good price, it ain't bad at all. I also like to fuck with this place that is more of a fast food Mexican place with more authentic shit than you'd expect called Vanqueros. However, I ain't goin' back to Eva's, that place was a dump... went there on my 30th Birthday. The best part was this nice black couple enjoyin' their meal sang Happy Birthday to me while the staff did.

Also, the Airport Tavern has 1 dollar tacos on Tuesdays, can't really go wrong with that and a few beverages.

Not a bad little place to live food wise if ya like a little spice.

Have you got the Patty Melt from Whataburger yet?

The Patty Melt is the truth. I also fuck with their buffalo chicken strip sandwich that they have occasionally.

@Chris Kringle is on point with his El Jaliscience shout out. Best tacos in Nacogdoches and I'd seriously doubt there are any better taco joints in a 50 mile radius at least.

I really miss Barkeep's too. They were only for a few months before I moved away but I fucked with everything I ever got there. Good curry, good pad thai, overall just good shit and it was really the only place in town that had that stuff.

Also Peking's shrimp fried rice and Mongolian beef was superb.

I never ate at Barkeeps before I left, damn. Butcher Boys was also fire too, and I agree with you about the buffalo chicken strip sandwhich from Whataburger, but I think the BBQ one is better.

Butcher Boys was indeed fire. Their steak fingers were basically entire chicken fried steaks. Great bang for your buck.

Lest we forget Fuzzy's. Them margaritas would put it on you.

I sure hope the patty melt lives up to the hype because especially with fast food places you never know what kind of punk ass kids are workin' the back on your food.

Getting queso and drunk off margaritas at Fuzzys, ordering Wingstop from the app and walking over and getting it before going back home, getting stoned and eating wings was a great move. Possibly one of my better ideas in my entire life tbh bc Wingstop fries in Fuzzy's queso was magical
