This filler PPV doesn’t really deserve too much of my precious time and with most of the card as predictable as it gets (though I did make one surprise selection in the predictions contest that perhaps few may see coming if indeed confirmed), I’m only going to make one note, which is in regards to the Becky Lynch versus Charlotte Flair match and the stipulation added.
As I’ve noted in various posts throughout my time here in these forums, I am pretty much “old school” as a fan and one could even call me romantic. In this particular case, my major gripe is the idea that Becky Lynch basically has to win this qualifying match (essentially, that’s what this is) in order to be part of the main event of Wrestlemania when SHE ALREADY EARNED THAT OPPORTUNITY BY WINNING THE FUCKING ROYAL RUMBLE.
Okay, granted, there have been several occasions in the past when especially your typical “stupid” baby face would put his/her Rumble win on the line but this case is completely different and reeks of storyline stupidity. If Becky already won the Rumble, why does she have to go through Charlotte now to get to Mania? Why are we treating the Royal Rumble – mind you, the second largest event of the calendar year and even the favorite PPV to a vast majority of the fans – as if it never took place? Am I the only one having a problem with this?
And, by the way, how did we go from Vince suspending Becky one week to Stephanie reinstating her the following week with no clear cut explanation?
