Fabricio Camoes vs. Gray Maynard added to UFC 176 in August

A lightweight matchup between Brazilian Fabricio Camoes (14-8-1 MMA, 1-3-1 UFC) and two-time UFC title challenger Gray Maynard (11-3-1 MMA, 9-3-1 UFC) is the latest addition to UFC 176.

The bout was first reported by the Los Angeles Daily News and subsequently confirmed by UFC officials.

Featuring a championship rematch between UFC featherweight title holder Jose Aldo and top contender Chad Mendes, UFC 176 takes place Aug. 2 at Los Angeles’ Staples Center. The evening’s main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

Camoes fought most recently in December, when he was forced to tap to a Jim Miller armbar. That was the lone 2013 bout for “Morango,â€￾ who owns a 10-fight winning streak in bouts outside of the UFC but has earned just one victory in five octagon appearances.

Meanwhile, Maynard is perhaps best known for a pair of legendary 2011 bouts with then-UFC lightweight champ Frankie Edgar. However, after opening his career at 10-0, “The Bullyâ€￾ is just 1-3-1 in his past five outings.

The night’s official bout order has yet to be revealed, but Camoes vs. Maynard will likely serve on the evening’s preliminary lineup.

The winner of this will probably get fired.

Considering camoes has only fought twice in the last 2 years and Maynard's most recent first round TKOs to Nate Diaz and TJ Grant, this definitely has the potential to be a loser goes home fight.

The opponents they've been giving Camoes have been ridiculous. Props to the guy for accepting all these fights but he's won once in the UFC and after that they've been throwing him at top 10 or top 15 guys for easy wins. Miller, Guillard and now Maynard. He really isn't getting a chance to bounce back.
