I was thinking about something recently regarding the CFL.
This league needs to expand. I realize they tried to expand into America and that failed spectacularly. But, there are other Canadian cities big enough to host teams.
A three team expansion seems like a good number.
Here are the three cities the CFL might want to consider if they ever expand.
1) Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (Pop: Almost 300,000)
2) Quebec City, Quebec (Pop: Over 500,000. Good natural rival for the Als.)
3) Halifax, Nova Scotia (Pop: Almost 500,000. They were working on a deal to bring the CFL to NS a few years ago (and also back in the '80s if memory serves me correctly) but the deal fell apart for some reason.)
Nine teams just doesn't seem like enough. Keep the six-team playoff format. But adding three teams would make the chases for those spots even more exciting.
