With the likely-hood that Mick Foley either as himself or under one of his guises will be heading to TNA it gives the show a much needed boost and gives more people more of a reason to watch TNA, Foley wasn't much of a commentator for SMACKDOWN but his last act seems to be that promo with Edge and if it did anything then it highlighted just how good and enjoyable he can still be, even if he is not flying off cages or going through tables.

I would like to see TNA copy the WWE in some sense and create an evolution type stable with Foley taking the Flair role, I would like to see Christian Cage as the top guy in this stable with Matt Morgan and possibly Eric Young as the young pretenders to Cages throne.

The name could be something simple like 'Preparation'!

I think Morgan is doing well at the moment but people don't seem to be that interested if viewing figures are to be believed (they seem to drop when he is doing his usual squash) Eric Young is in major need of some kind of serious gimmick or he will eventually fade away completely and Christian Cage for some reason has been kept away from the top end of the show for far to long.

I think the Ric Flair role could suit Foley down to a tee, he would not be expected to wrestle too often and when he did it could be as a tag team and as a singles it could have plenty of outside interference and he could focus on being the manager of this with the Instant Classic taking up the captains role of this stable.

Looking at this I believe that this would be fantastic for TNA, it would give all of the guys I listed an instant boost and give Mick Foley a ready made top angle to be involved in as soon as he has stepped into the iMPACT! zone.

Ric Flair ---------------- Mick Foley/Cactus Jack
Triple H ---------------- Christian Cage
Batista ---------------- Matt Morgan
Randy Orton ----------- Eric Young

Eric Young?

Anyway, good idea, however, the point of the HHH/Flair tandem was that HHH was eveything Ric Flair stood for, and Cage and Foley have nothing alike.

In the end, I wouldn't like it. TNA needs its own ideas, not copying ideas from the other companies.

Copying Ideas?

There is very little if anything left in the business that can be considered original these days, the WWF's biggest faction and most decorated faction was DX which was a play on the original nWo, there is nothing sacred in Pro Wrestling anymore, and as for Cage, nothing alike from Foley? I think you will find that Foley is one of Christian (and Edges) all time heroes and there style in the early years and even on the odd occasion could easily be based on Foley with there hard core mannerisms. Foley eventually got to the top of the tree and Cage is destined for those heights in my opinion, it would make sense!

As for Eric Young, he is in need of a major gimmick with a serious side and he does have the ability, he has been tainted for so long that it is possible that it might not work however being kept on the backburner and just going out and winning matches for a few months would see attitudes change towards him and also have him in a couple of really good matches. working alongside class like Cage and experience like Foley on a regular basis would be ideal for him in my own humble opinion

First of, Foley can be Cage's hero, but their styles, and gimmicks are different. TNA portrays Christian as either a tweener babyface(not counting his pathetic tag team run with Rhino), or a cocky heel. Does that sound like Foley?

I don't like Eric Young on that role, the Orton like role. I am sorry but that would be above him. Maybe, even if it is from a whole different mold, give it to Jay Lethal. I can see Young becoming more serious and the thing working, but, he will always be tainted by the Prince Justice Brotherhood shit.

And last, yeah, there aren't many things original in this business, however, just because of that, you are going to be all out and copy the opposition? It's one thing to base an idea of yours, with twists, on another idea, like TNA did when they based Abyss/Judass Messias with Kane/Taker, however, copying EXACTLY Evolution would bomb, not mentioning it's way too pathetic

Eric Young?

All comedic aspects of him aside, Eric Young is a great wrestler. If he created a serious gimmick as a vicious heel...you would believe in it. Trust me, someday it'll make perfect sense.

Who said blatently ripping off the Evolution idea? I said use it as an example for how it can propel others

Also if you want to talk about blatently ripping off then you mentioned it with the Aybss/Messias angle

HOWEVER

DX was a blatent rip off for the nWo and it worked to perfection, probably bettering the nWo

I agree with Charsima...Eric Young would be a great serious heel and I think he needs to. That kid is talented and needs a serious angle to prove it.

Gaff, another good idea. It needs some refining, but at least it sounds better than the PRINCE JUSTICE BROTHERHOOD!

I think its also note worthy to point out that while all of the above are currently faces, I believe this would only work if it where a full on heel faction

Well Foley is the obvious role for the legendary mould in this Evolution because none of the other canditates (Angle, Booker and Sting) wouldn't fit that well and Christian would kinda fit the Evolution bill well with his heel gimmick but as CMS said Foler and Cage don't really represent HHH/Flair but I could see TNA working their way around that problem somehow if they were to make this stable.

As for the powerhouse Matt Morgan seems like a pretty good choice and also could fit the Evolution bill well rollin' in suits and all that but I don't think he would be the "perfect" fit but he'd still make do as there isn't anyone better for the job currently employed by TNA.

Now Eric young in the Randy Orton role. Sory but that's a no-no for me. Orton is now a superstar, winning WM Main Events and that was started by Evolution. Eric Young imo doesn't have what it takes to beat the likes of Kurt Angle in the BFG Main Event one day and I would give the role to someone like Kaz (it's too late now though, sadly) or Alex Shelley (yeah, it would be sad to see MCMG split but Shelley has what it takes to be te Orton of TNA) so that would be my choice.

All in all the Evolution idea is pretty cool and could do well in TNA as long as the writers can make something good out of it and not copy WWE completely because they really need to take something like this seriously because in effect they could be making two people Main Eventers and if they fuck up then it could be a while before they do make it to the ME if they ever do.

While Eric Young is a good (that's good, not great. I've yet to see any proof that he is a great wrestler), that doesn't mean that an Orton-esque gimmick would fit him. Young has nearly always been a comedy character, even dating back to Team Canada. To suddenly turn him into a serious fellow would be illogical. Something like that requires serious character development, something that TNA normally messes up somewhere along the way.

Preparation H imo....

anyways, this looks good, but I think WWE already mastered the Evolution gig...anything else from either company would just look bad compared to Evolution.

I don't think TNA needs any factions atm. Maybe this could be a good idea to help build up a Lethal Lockdown match, but for now this isn't needed

I disagree DX never changed anything whereas NWO changed the face of pro wrestling
