WWE’s latest business figures include a preliminary estimate buyrate for the Elimination Chamber PPV. The figures estimate the buys at 180,000, down from 199,000 in 2011 and 285,000 in 2010.

Nearly 20,000 down. They may just be a little happy that it didn't slump a lot like it did last year.

WWE seem to be going down in PPV buys for nearly every PPV than the year before, the PPV had an okay build but not anything great.

So in two years they have lost 100k buys for this PPV. PPV business as a whole for WWE has been decreasing for years but they aren't helping themselves by not building the entire card in advance of the show. In the end WWE simply needs more top mainevent stars, they need a dozen guys that could credibly mainevent a PPV and sell it. At the moment Cena, Taker, HHH, Punk and Orton are probably the only guys that would actually draw PPV buys on their own.
