fightline.com said:Erik Koch wants back in the Octagon to avenge his loss that kicked off the year. He thinks that fellow featherweight Dustin Poirier makes the most sense.
"I want to fight Dustin Poirier," said Koch to CageFanatic. "That's just the fight I think makes sense and it's the fight I want to happen, so hopefully that's the next one."
Koch had four straight wins, including three stoppages, before Ricardo Lamas ended his run towards the title. Poirier took four wins when he joined the UFC, but has been on the losing end lately.
Koch is No. 9 in the official UFC rankings and Poirier is No. 7.
They were to meet at UFC 143 before Koch went down with an undisclosed injury. Neither have fights at the moment, as Koch wants to make it happen at UFC 164.
That fight does make sense seeing as they both recently lost to top contenders. It'd be an awesome fight as well, as I am a huge fan of both men's "go for broke" style in different respectives.
