Triple H Reveals Which RAW Superstar Was Nearly Fired

""There's been guys that have made it that over the course of a couple of years that were constantly on the cut list," Levesque said. "Enzo Amore, when I brought him in, everyone at the tryout was saying, 'Get rid of this kid!' I was like, 'He's got a huge personality. If he can annoy us all this bad here, imagine what he can do on TV.' ... Every time he'd get his review, they'd be like, 'I'd cut him.' Dusty [Rhodes] and I would be like, 'Keep him.' Look at him now. ... Is he ever going to make you money from an in-ring performer standpoint? Probably not. But he's money on the mic."

This kind of thinking is what gives me some hope for WWE. Triple H has his head on right. He thinks outside the box and tries to see talent for what they are, whether it's the mic, persona, in ring skill, etc. What do you all think?

I don't like Enzo and Cass, but i respect their gimmick, personalities, and mic skills (at least enzos) Cuz they are overy with the crowd and will probably win the tag titles on sunday. Their ring work is terribly boring. They do the same match every time.

Trips was right for keeping him.

Enzo ain't good in the ring, but man, oh man, is he one hell of a talker!

I think he and Cass could go far, more like him being manager to Cass than a tag team though (unless he improves a ton)

Also I see Enzo and Cass having a run with the tag titles and then eventually splitting up in the next draft with Cass going to Smackdown and Enzo staying on Raw and being in the cruiserweight division. It'll be interesting to see how Enzo hangs with the cruiserweights

That's exactly the type of attitude I respect. Enzo is annoying at times, but man, he's amazing on the mic. I'm glad Trips kept him.

What a shame he wasn't cut because he's so terrible. Dont get me wrong he is charismatic and he can work the mic but he's beyond terrible in the ring, even Cesaro couldn't get a watchable match out of him. And his gimmick sucks, and his promos are terrible because of all the terrible catchphrases. He's just doing the exact same thing every week. Should have cut him as a wrestler and told him just to focus on being a manager, he'd be good at that.

I disagree. Enzo is simply entertaining, not the entire package which is fine. WWE needs guys like him to fill certain gaps and not keep everything the same.

I'd have no issue with him as a manager or announcer, but he's not cut out to be a wrestler. And I cant stand his current gimmick, its so awful, and it means all his promos are terrible because of the shit material the gimmick comes with.

I liked Enzo...until they had him try to sleep with a married woman...
No...I'm never getting over that.

His mic skills are amazing...but...his in-ring skills are far from solid...
(I mean he's better than me...but an angry dog would be a better
in-ring worker than I am)

I hope Enzo & Cass have a decent run with the tag titles...but you
just know Cass is going to get a big push once he's in the singles
division.

I'm sure Vince will be "excited" at the idea of Cass vs. Strowman or
Cass vs. Corbin or even better Cass vs. Corbin vs. Strowman...

Meh, he's a decent "break up the monotony" guy. If he stay, don't care, if he gets canned, don't care

Cass should be a singles competitor and Enzo should be his manager/hype man. It's simple.

I agree with most people that his talents would be better served as a manager. Really, as a wrestler, he's nothing without Cass. Honestly, I've been a big supporter of the idea of WWE using managers again more frequently. They should definitely go that route.
