Former WWE superstar Tenille Dashwood, whom you may better remember as Emma, recently opened up about the 'Emmalina' gimmick she was supposed to play. She caught up with Lance Storm for the 'Killing The Town' podcast.

Dashwood maintained that she did not know the plans for Emmalina, and the idea was shelved when WWE Creative realized the character was not at all suitable for her. All she really wanted to do was wrestle and not be a diva.

Storm asked Dashwood about whether she knew where the Emmalina story was headed, only to receive this response:

"No (laughs). I wish I had more to say. I don't know. I guess there was an idea to it, and they realized along the way that, that wasn't me, that wasn't for me at all. I mean I'm not a diva. I'm not like that at all. And I just wanted to wrestle."
Lance Storm also agreed that Evil Emma was a better fit for her character. Dashwood felt that the character suited her better, because she has a similar attitude to Evil Emma, in reality.

I miss Emma. I thought she was about to get a huge push after her excellent match with Asuka. She looked really strong in that match despite losing in the end, and then poof she was gone.

I actually follow her show schedule hoping to see her working an indie match within driving distance. So far no go.

It does seem very strange how the entire situation was handled...

Why allow Emma/Tenille to look so strong against Asuka if you
were just going to release her?

Plus the fact that she's a great worker while women like Dana
Brooke, Nia Jax & Lana are still around "wrestling" makes it
seem even stranger.

Maybe she refused to give a creative team member a handjob?

Anyway...follow Tenille here...

Her release is still a huge mystery to me. She was one of the most talented, well rounded women they had.. Not only did they release her, for years they refused to give her any kinda push.. I don't get why they didn't see anything in her.

Anyway, i hope she ends up making more money on the indy's than she was in WWE, then the joke will be on them.

Hear Hear!

for years they refused to give her any kinda push.
I think when Tenille/Emma was finally in line for some kind of push
she unfortunately suffered a back injury at the worst possible time &
that killed the push & the WWE's original plans for Dana Brooke as well.

I believe EnD was going to be a "thing" on the main roster...but
Emma's injury killed it & then that "gimmick/team up" was passed
on to Peyton Royce & Billie Kay.

(Just think about that for a moment)

The WWE then pissed around with the Emmalina bullshit for too
long & with the wrong woman (looks at Mandy Rose & sighs) &
when Evil Emma finally did return...she was left on RAW, not
paired back up with Dana Brooke & suffered another bloody
injury at a house show in England.

(Which was against Sasha Banks...Hey wait a minute...is there
a pattern emerging here?)

Then the social media crap started as well as terrible new music
every second week (Why? Real Deal is a fucking sweet track!)
and matches against Mickie James on main event...& even though
she was involved in the No Mercy title match...it was simply to add
another name to the list of people defeated by Alexa Bliss...so in the
end...a couple of competitive matches against Asuka & a see you later.

Its a shame to because the women's division is looking slightly fragile
at the moment with Paige's in-ring future unknown & Foxy & Tamina
both out with long term injuries.

Its a shame they didn't keep Emma around because they could have
simply had her take over as the leader of Absolution...or even just be
there to add some depth to the division.

But...she's out there kicking ass on the Indies & from all reports is
having a great time doing it...so good for her.

I don't get why they didn't see anything in her.
I think they did...its just she was injured at the worst possible time
& never really recovered from that.

After so many set backs & chances it was probably for the best that
she got out of there.

Hopefully she can be like Drew Galloway/McIntrye & come back
even better & stronger & get a proper main roster title push.

Without getting injured of course...

Ugh...

Anyway, i hope she ends up making more money on the indy's than she was in WWE, then the joke will be on them.
Well...she's been getting plenty of bookings...but I'm not
really sure on the money side of things.

Who knows what could happen?

She might be back with the company by this time next
year or she may never get that opportunity again...either
way I just want her to be successful no matter what.

Although part of me is hoping for a Emma/Peyton/Billie
stable in the WWE one day.

That would be awesome to see...& would hopefully mean
Emma would get a proper title winning push.

I hope that's the case, but it will be a lot tougher for a woman to make that kinda impact on the indy's.. I believe she can do it though, she's off to a great start.. I hope she sticks with ROH for now, maybe works with Impact as well and down the line works for Stardom.. although i heard Stardom didn't want to pay her what she wanted.

I can see her returning next year in the Royal Rumble if they have another one.. If she's not tied to a contract already.
