Ed Herman vs. Rafael Natal joins UFC Fight Night in Cincinnati
A middleweight bout between veterans Ed Herman (21-10 MMA, 8-6 UFC) and Rafael Natal (17-5-1 MMA, 5-3-1 UFC) is the latest addition to the recently announced UFC Fight Night in Cincinnati event.
UFC officials announced the bout on Wednesday.
As reported Wednesday, the event takes place May 10 at Cincinnati’s U.S. Bank Arena. The main card is expected to air on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on UFC Fight Pass.
Since a UFC-career-best three-fight winning streak in 2012, Herman is 1-2 with one no-contest. “The Ultimate Fighter 3″ runner-up most recently followed up a split-decision win over Trevor Smith (which earned both competitors “Fight of the Night†bonuses) with a decision loss to former title challenger Thales Leites at UFC 167 in November.
The well-rounded 33-year-old Team Quest fighter now meets Natal, a resurgent 31-year-old Brazilian who had entered the title picture with three straight UFC wins and five victories in a six-fight span. However, he suffered a setback in November with a knockout loss to Tim Kennedy in UFC Fight Night 31′s headliner.
The latest UFC Fight Night in Cincinnati card now includes:
Ed Herman vs. Rafael Natal
Soa Palelei vs. Ruan Potts
Justin Salas vs. Ben Wall
