Wrestlemania 24 preview

Main Event
Title vs. Streak
Special Referee: The Rock
Triple H © vs. Undertaker

Before the debacle that was World Wrestling Entertainment before Vince McMahon decided to finally take the threat of Extreme Championship Wrestling seriously, Triple H was the WWE Champion. He was stripped of his belt and put in a fatal four way at the Royal Rumble for the championship. “The Game” came out of this match with the championship title that he never lost in the first place. All the way to the Rumble, Triple H would not let this fact go. Even after the Rumble, Triple H still went on and on about how he was just that damn good. On the other side of the coin, The Undertaker was the last man in the Royal Rumble for the WWE. To many that would automatically mean that he would be the number one contender for Triple H’s WWE title. However, Eric Bischoff needed a main event for the No Way Out Pay Per View. Knowing this, Eric decided to bring back his invention. The Elimination Chamber. This match, which won match of the month honors, was a gruesome bout. At the end of the night, The Undertaker was the man that came out on top. Now the stage was set for Wrestlemania 24. It was going to be The Undertaker vs. Triple H in a title vs. streak match. The week before Wrestlemania was to take place, Eric Bischoff decided to pit two of his hottest rivalries in a tag team match. It was to be The Rock and The Undertaker taking on Triple H and Brock Lesner. This match was very competitive. The ending saw Brock going for the F-5 on ‘Taker. Brock hit and went for the pin. The Rock was there for the save and pulled Brock out the ring. Rock took Brock out of the match and slide into the ring. Triple H was back in the ring. Undertaker went for his big boot but hit Rocky with it. Triple H hit the Pedigree on ‘Taker and got the pin fall. Trips went outside the ring and got his favorite toy, the sledgehammer. “The Cerebral Assassin” went into the ring and was looking to take out “The Deadman” with a vial hammer shot. However, just like earlier it was a miss fire and The Rock was once again nailed by one of the competitors in the Main Event at Wrestlemania. If things could not get worse, Eric Bischoff came out and announced that The Rock was now going to be the special referee for the Triple H vs. Undertaker title match.

ECW World Title Match
60 Minute Iron Man Match
Edge © vs. Shelton Benjamin

Every since Extreme Championship Wrestling was restarted everyone was wondering why Edge decided to be apart of ECW. Well, he made that very clear on his first night in the company. Edge wanted to add the ECW World title to his list of championships. He made this happen on the first night with the help of two masked men. Edge defeated Shelton Benjamin and Chris Jericho in a ladder match. Since Shelton Benjamin had the advantage the majority of the match, he felt he was robbed of the title. He went to Paul Heyman and was placed in a qualifying match for a spot in the Royal Rumble. After three chair shots from Edge and the masked men, before the match even started, AJ Styles was able to hit the Styles Clash and get the victory. It was then revealed that the Major Brothers were the masked men. Edge then said that the “Higher Power” would not be happy until all the belts were in possession of his men. This happened when The Majors won the ECW Tag Team belts. Also, this “Higher Power” was able to get Elijah Burke onto his side. Burke brought along Kofi Kingston and Carlito. This alliance did not last long as Kofi Kingston took the last fall in the Gauntlet match that allowed Benjamin to decide the stipulation of the match after he won the opportunity by running the gauntlet in the Royal Rumble match by starting number one and winning it. Now Edge and his cronies which now included Mr. Kennedy beat down Kofi Kingston. The only man that came to his aid was Carlito. Elijah Burke was stuck in the middle literally. The next week, Carlito and Kofi laid down an ultimatum to Burke. It was either them or the “Higher Power.” Well Burke picked Kofi and Carlito and they dubbed themselves the “Cool Kids.” Needless to say, “The Higher Power” was not happy about this and let every one through Edge that there would be hell to pay at Wrestlemania. This opens the question, will Edge, who does everything that “The Higher Power” says, will he be more focused on “The cool kids” or on defending his priced possession, The ECW World Championship.

Legend vs. Legend Killer
Bret Hart vs. Randy Orton

This is the first battle of ECW vs. WWE. However, it is a battle that is more than a decade in the making. Bret Hart came back to wrestling for one reason. He wanted revenge on Vincent Kennedy McMahon for what happened that long night in Montreal at the Survivor Series. Bret Hart was involved in the Royal Rumble and Vince McMahon was as well. However, Vince did all he could to keep away from Bret. He even forced Rob Van Dam, to protect him and show his loyalty to the WWE. Vince and Bret did not get the chance to lock horns, so Bret challenged Vince to a match at the granddaddy of them all, Wrestlemania. It looked like all signs were ago but at the last moment, Randy Orton came out and ran down Hart. Instead of Hart vs. McMahon it was going to be Legend vs. Legend Killer in the form of Bret Hart as the Legend and Randy Orton being the Legend Killer. The week before Wrestlemania, Teddy Hart, who is apart of the New Hart Foundation, took on Randy Orton. Teddy Hart took Orton to the limit but in the end, the interference of Batista was to much for Hart. After the match, Bret Hart and Jack Evans ran down to help out but Orton and Batista got out of the way. As they headed back up the ramp, Orton got on the microphone and announced that Evolution was back as “Line in the Sand” played. Now, at Wrestlemania, it will not just be a battle of Legend vs. Legend Killer but a battle of Hart Foundation vs. Evolution. Who will come out on top?

Tag Team Warfare
Rob Van Dam and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin vs. Shane and Vince McMahon

One of the most heated rivalries from 1998 takes shape again as “Stone Cold” takes on the McMahon family. However, he will have some back up in the form of RVD. The latest installment of this long-running rivalry started when Vince McMahon named the entrants for the Royal Rumble match representing the WWE. Austin, despite being a three time winner, was not on the list. “Stone Cold” was not happy about this and got his shot to be in the Royal Rumble by facing Vince McMahon who inserted himself into the Rumble. When it looked like Shane McMahon was going to help “Stone Cold” but it just was a scheme set-up by him and his father as Shane purposely got Steve disqualified so that his father would still be in the Rumble. Backing up a little bit, Vince McMahon made RVD his personal servant to prove his loyalty to WWE. After Rob did not eliminate Bret Hart in the Rumble, Vince tried to get Rob Van Dam out of his company. He faced him against Christian in a loser leaves town match which Christian lost. Two weeks before Wrestlemania, Vince put Rob Van Dam and Steve Austin against three of his biggest monsters. Even with the backing of the McMahon family, these men were not able to defeat the renegades. The very next week, Vince put RVD and “Stone Cold” in the bery same match but this time inside of a steel cage. The plans of Vince and Shane were once again defeated as RVD and Steve Austin pinned the three monsters. However, after the match, Rob Van Dam got handcuffed to the steel cage and Austin was beat down and bloodied.

Three Way Dance House of Fun Cage Match
Samoa Joe vs. CM Punk vs. Raven

It started as a gentle shrug on the way back to the locker room. Samoa Joe and CM Punk started respecting each other. They put on a classic match at the Royal Rumble which some saw as the singles match of the night. Now it is getting personal. When CM Punk and Samoa Joe wanted to entertain the fans one more time, it was just a simple matter of what kind of match it would be. After Punk went through a list of matches, it came down to one match. The Fight without Honor match. The fans went ballistic for this match. It was an instant classic until the end of the match. The lights went out and when they came back on, Raven was in the middle of the ring and landed the Raven effect on Punk onto a steel chair. Joe rolled over after he took a GTS and pinned Punk. Raven ended the show by doing his classic taunt over top of Punk. The next week, Punk went after Joe because Raven was no where to be seen. Joe said that he had no idea why Raven was in ECW and no idea why he attacked Punk. So the “Straight-Edge Superstar” went to Paul Heyman and got a match for that night against Samoa Joe for the rubber match. The lights went out near the end of the match and Raven once again in the ring, but this time he had a microphone. Raven cut a promo telling why he was back in ECW. He wanted CM Punk. Samoa Joe interjected that this was not any of Raven’s business and he just needed to leave what was left in Ring of Honor in Ring of Honor. Raven said that if Joe wanted then he could join the fun. The House of Fun Cage. Because Raven had a little surprise for Joe and Punk. At Wrestlemania it would be a Three Way Dance House of Fun Cage Match with everything on the line.

Money in the Bank Match
Kane vs. Kurt Angle vs. Brock Lesner vs. Umaga vs. Jack Evans vs. AJ Styles vs. Shane Helms vs. Elijah Burke

The Money in the Bank match up is the highlight of the event most years and this year it should be no different. With the powerhouse of Brock Lesner, Kane and Umaga from the WWE. The Olympic Gold medalist in Kurt Angle, High Flying Cruiserweights wit AJ Styles, Shane Helms, and Jack Evans. Also the wild card in the event, Elijah Burke. All of these men had different paths to get to this match. Firstly Kurt Angle came to ECW turf to beat ECW superstar Montel Vontavious Porter to earn his spot. Brock Lesner once again defeated The Rock to earn his spot in this match. Umaga and Kane were involved in a match that ended in a draw. Ric Flair was to be in this match by defeating John Cena. However, after John Cena bloodied Flair and took him out, Eric Bischoff decided to put Kane and Umaga in the match. On the ECW side of things AJ Styles won his spot in an amazing match against Rey Mysterio. Jack Evans won his match against Chris Jericho. Paul Heyman let it know that he wanted to bring the bang to the Money in the Bank match. With the next match up between Shane Helms and Christopher Dainels. Shane got the W when the newly contracted Shannon Moore helped him. After the match, Shane and Shannon reformed the group known as Three Count. The last match was a three way between friends when Elijah Burke vs. Carlito vs. Kofi Kingston. Elijah won after a terrific match up and after the match they were still friends. Now the stage was set. Eight men all wanting to climb the ladder of success. The ladders have been bought and are going to be set up at Wrestlemania 24 for all the world to admire.

Shawn Michaels vs. John Cena

This one is personal. John Cena attacked Shawn Michaels mentor, Ric Flair. John Cena played Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair. Everyone thought that John wanted help in guiding his career. All it seems that Cena wanted is a new way to get noticed. He went after Ric Flair and tried to shoot the old man down. This one is simple. John Cena vs. Shawn Michaels. Wrestlemania. It will be greatness.

Falls count anywhere
Mr. Kennedy vs. Jeff Hardy

Once Matt Hardy was taken out by Edge and his cronies, Jeff was left by his own. Matt was out for up to six months and Mr. Kennedy had just quit the WWE. He wanted to make a big impact and what better way to do it than to go after Jeff Hardy. Mr. Kennedy first used what some would say is his greatest weapon, his mouth, to rile Jeff up. Then Kennedy showed his alliance with Edge to take Jeff out. However, they didn’t finish the job. Hardy went to Paul Heyman and requested a First Blood match. This was a result of the blood that Mr. Kennedy would have dropped onto Hardy during times he was in the arena. Kennedy did not want this match but Paul told him that he would be fired if he did not go through wit the match. With one week until Wrestlemania, Kennedy and Hardy were set to lock horns. However, before the match, Mr. Kennedy distracted the referee as the blood substance dropped on Hardy. The referee had no choice but to award the match to Kennedy as he did not know what was going to happen. Paul Heyman then came out and stated that this was “Bullshit.” That is his words and not mine. Paul let Mr. Kennedy know that he was to be facing Jeff in a Falls Count Anywhere match at Wrestlemania. He ended it by saying that there would be no place to run.

WMXXIV-1.jpg

A video package comes up highlighting the big time rivalries that are happening in both WWE and ECW. The card is run down and pyro goes off for about a minute straight. Lillian Garcia introduces Haley Williams to sing the national anthem. The fans cheer USA, USA as Jim Ross intros us to Wrestlemania.

Ross: Welcome to the greatest Pay Per View spectacle in the history of Sports Entertainment. WrestleMania. Tonight we have, in the main event, Triple H vs. The Undertaker for the WWE Championship.

Styles: Your right Ross, the advertised Main Event is Triple H vs. Undertaker but as the ECW fans know, the real main event should be the Iron Man match for the ECW World Championship between the champion, Edge vs. Shelton Benjamin.

Lawler: That is very good, but what about your boy, Styles, RVD and Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. The McMahons.

Taz: That should be a decent match but ECW is going to be showcasing a three way dance house of fun cage match. That one will tear the house down.

Ross: That will be one hell of a slobber knocker but don’t forget that WWE is putting on a classic wrestling match in the form of “The Heartbreak Kid†Shawn Michaels vs. John Cena.

Styles: Well let me counter that match with this one, Ross and Lawler. Mr. Kennedy, a former WWE star, vs. Jeff Hardy where falls count anywhere.

Lawler: No one cares about that Extremely Crappy Wrestling. Tonight is all about the WWE and we will prove it in the two inter-promotional matches tonight.

Ross: First it will be the Money in the Bank match that has proven to steal the show.

Taz: And now that the ECW stars are in the match, there will be no reason that the bar will not be lifted.

Styles: Also, there will be the return of the Hitman to Wrestlemania as he takes on WWE’s, Randy Orton in a one on one bout that could just as well turn into a all out war between Evolution and The Hart Foundation.

Ross: Well, enough of the talking. Let’s get to the action.

Styles: And we start with real wrestling as Mr. Kennedy vs. Jeff Hardy is up first.

Taz: Remember folks, Fall will count anywhere in the building.

Mr. Kennedy vs. Jeff Hardy
Falls Count Anywhere

The match begins as the referee rings the bell and both men come out of their corner. They begin to circle each other and then lock up. Kennedy gets the advantage and is able to push Jeff to the canvas. Jeff lands on his ass and then stands right back up. Kennedy yells at him to try it one more time. Hardy obliges and both men lock up in the center of the ring. It looks like Jeff is about to get the advantage but Mr. Kennedy is able to once again push Hardy down to the canvas. Jeff gets up and Kennedy yells at him to get back into a lock up. Hardy plays to go for the lock up but ducks underneath of Kennedy’s arm and shifts himself to the side of Kennedy. Jeff lands a short dropkick to the knee of Kennedy and Mr. Kennedy falls flat on his face. Hardy hops onto Kennedy and gets in a front face lock. Kennedy tries to get to his feet but Hardy cuts him off by wrenching down with the face lock. Kennedy tries to switch methods and is able to sit out and lift the arms of Hardy out of the face lock. Hardy breaks his hold on Kennedy but then slaps on a headlock. Hardy and Kennedy are chest to chest as Kennedy tries to find his way out. Kennedy steps back and slips out. Kennedy grabs Hardy’s left arm and twists it around. Kennedy locks in a hammer lock. Hardy slaps the back of Kennedy’s shoulder but then grabs the leg of Kennedy and Kennedy lands flat on his back. Hardy turns his body around while still holding onto Kennedy’s leg. Jeff locks Kennedy’s leg with his leg and then comes down. Jeff gets back to his feet and does it once more. Hardy flies up in the air and goes to come back down on the knee of Mr. Kennedy. However, Kennedy is able to get his other leg up and kick Jeff in the chest and Hardy falls to the mat. Kennedy slowly pulls his body away from Hardy all the while holding onto his leg. Kennedy backs up to the ropes and slowly get to his feet. Hardy is slowing getting back up as Kennedy is fully on his feet.

Hardy looks up at Kennedy and charges at him looking for the offensive advantage but Kennedy is able to duck his head and back drop Hardy over the top rope. Hardy lands face first on the canvas below and the fans go crazy. A replay is shown as Joey Styles and Taz hype up the spot. Kennedy rolls out the ring and kicks Hardy in the back of the head. Jeff is slowly getting back to his feet while holding his face. Kennedy charges at Hardy and lands a clothesline. As Hardy falls back it is revealed that Hardy broke his nose and blood is spewing everywhere. Jeff bangs off of the mats on the ringside area. Kennedy goes for a pin fall but Hardy is able to get his shoulder off the mat. Kennedy gets up to his feet and grabs Hardy by the hair. Hardy whips the blood off of his face, Kennedy nails him with a hard right hand. Hardy’s head flies back and Kennedy nails him with another hard right hand. Hardy’s head again flies back and then into position for Kennedy to nail him with another hard right hand, that knocks Hardy to the floor. Kennedy then plays to the crowd while the referee gets a towel from underneath the ring and quickly gets some of the blood of off Jeff’s possible broken nose. Kennedy then stands over top of Hardy and kicks him in the mid-section. Kennedy sets Hardy up for a slingshot. Kennedy falls back and Jeff goes flying into the outside turnbuckle. Jeff falls back to the mats on the outside of the ring and Kennedy goes for the pin fall. A two count by the referee before the weak kick-out by Jeff. Kennedy is starting to get frustrated as he looks under the ring. Kennedy grabs a steel chair and stands up looking to lay Hardy out with a steel chair shot. However, Jeff is able to move and Kennedy only hits air. Jeff is now standing in front of the ring and Kennedy swings the steel chair but Jeff is able to move out the way and Kennedy bangs the steel chair against the ring apron. The vibrations from the hit to the apron makes Kennedy drop the steel chair. Hardy is back to his feet and lands a small dropkick to the lower back of Kennedy knocking Kennedy into the ring apron. Hardy slides behind Kennedy and school boys him for a two count. Hardy is back to his feet as he slides into the ring. Kennedy slowly gets back to his feet and slides into the ring. Jeff then slides out of the ring and runs towards the entrance ramp. Kennedy follows him as Jeff hops off of the entrance ramp and over towards the electrical equipment. Kennedy keeps chasing him as Jeff ducks behind some of the electrical boxes. Kennedy follows him back their and then we see Kennedy fall backwards onto the concrete. Jeff Hardy comes out and Matt Hardy is following him. Matt has a steel chair and cracks Kennedy in the knee. Matt has a brace on his knee and is somewhat limping. Jeff hops onto the entrance ramp way and begins to climb the structure that is the set for Wrestlemania 24. Matt pounds Kennedy some more with the steel chair. Jeff is now fully on top of the set and yells to Matt to see if Kennedy is ready. Matt gives his brother the thumbs up and Jeff jumps off the top of the set and lands a Swanton Bomb on Kennedy. Jeff with the cover and the three count.

Styles: Taz. Matt Hardy is back. We have not seen him since he was brutally attacked by Edge and his cronies.

Taz: That’s right Joey, but if you didn’t see. Matt has a big time brace on his knee. It looks like he might still be out of in-ring action for a while.

Styles: That is very true Taz, but now we turn the show over to Maria is in the back with Shawn Michaels.

Maria: Thank you Joey. I am so excited to be here tonight at Wrestlemania. I am here with Shawn Michaels. Umm, can I ask you a question?

HBK: Sure, go ahead.

Maria: What is your strategy in your match versus John Cena next.

HBK: My strategy. See, Maria, I don’t have a strategy per say. If you really want me to answer your question Maria, I wouldn’t be able to answer it. I have no strategy. Well, ok there’s your answer but I think all of these fans know what I mean. Tonight, its Wrestlemania. It’s Shawn Michaels and John Cena once more. Last year it was for the title and you took the win Cena. What a difference a year can make. Last year the fans hated you and this year, well they still hate you but this time they have a legitimate reason. Cena, when you disrespected Ric Flair, you disrespected every wrestling fan that has grown up watching the sport of professional wrestling. When you took out Flair, you took out all of the fans in the world. Ric Flair is the heart and soul of professional wrestling and he is my hero. Ric Flair is like Batman. He is always there and Robin is next to him always having his back. Cena, tonight Robin steps up and defends the honor of Batman. John, at Wrestlemania, you are going to taste defeat.

John Cena vs. Shawn Michaels

The match starts with John and Shawn circling the ring. The go around three times before they lock up. Shawn dips down to one knee and then explodes up and gets the advantage on Cena. Shawn starts to back Cena up and gets him into the corner. The referee slides in between the two wrestlers and backs Shawn out of the corner. Cena is yelling and telling the referee to get Michaels away from him. The referee is able to back Shawn up and then moves out of the way. Cena comes out of the corner and both men circle each other but this time only once. They lock up in the middle of the ring. Shawn dips down once more but this time Cena lifts his leg up and knees Shawn in the face and that forces Shawn to break the lock up and grasp his face. Cena then comes down with a thunderous forearm to the back of the neck of the Heartbreak Kid. Shawn falls to the canvas face-first and slowly gets back to all fours as Cena comes back down with a forearm. Shawn once again flattens his body out. He slowly gets back up and Cena hits him once more with a forearm shot to the back of the neck. This time Cena bends down and picks Shawn up. Cena grabs Shawn’s arm and whips him into the corner. Cena follows Shawn in with a clothesline and Shawn’s feet fly into the air. Shawn’s feet come back down and he is standing in the corner. Cena comes over and lands HBK with a hard right hand punch. Cena then lands three shoulder blocks that sends Shawn in between the middle and top rope section of the turnbuckle. Cena turns around and throws up his “wordlife†taunt to the crowd as they boo him. Cena tells the crowd that they cannot see him as Shawn Michaels is slowly getting back to a stable position as Cena goes to turn around. Shawn is fully standing and Cena turns fully around and gets nailed with a right hand. Cena’s head rocks back and then flings back to the position that it was in before the punch from Michaels. Shawn lands another hard right hand punch. Cena flings backwards and comes back up. However, this time Cena is able to land a right hand of his own. Shawn is rocked backwards as Cena tries to fire up. Shawn is able to block the next punch that John tries to throw. HBK lands a right hand of his own. Shawn then fires up and lands about five punches in a row, knocking Cena into the turnbuckle. Shawn continues to punch Cena in the corner until the referee slips in between Cena and Shawn to get Shawn back out of the corner. The referee is able to get some space in between Cena and Shawn but Cena is able to grab the hair of Shawn and pull him in towards him. John then rakes the eyes of Shawn and Michaels sells out of the corner. John throws his arms up in the air to make it seem that he didn’t do anything. The referee questions John on what happened and Cena plays it off like he does not know what happened. Shawn Michaels is still selling his eye as John comes out of the turnbuckle heading towards Michaels. Shawn catches Cena coming and goes for a quick Sweet Chin Music but Cena catches the foot and spins Shawn around. John then lands a clothesline that knocks Shawn to his back. John then goes for the cover and gets a two count. Cena hops to his feet as Shawn slowly gets to his feet as Cena is waiting for him. Shawn grabs the middle rope and then the top rope. Shawn turns around and Cena lifts him up for the F-U. Shawn is able to flip over and onto his feet. Cena turns his body to HBK and gets some Sweet Chin Music to his mouth. Cena falls backwards and Shawn goes for the cover but Cena is able to kick out at two. Shawn slowly gets to his feet and the pain is shown on his face. Cena is slowly getting back to his feet as Shawn looks to go for another Sweet Chin Music. This time Cena is able to duck and Shawn’s leg gets caught in the top rope. Shawn has his leg on the top rope and his other leg in on the mat. Cena gets a burst of energy and is able to clip the leg of Shawn Michaels that was on the mat and Shawn takes a nasty bump onto the mat. Cena grabs Shawn by the leg that got clipped and drags him to the middle of the ring. Cena keeps a hold of the hurt leg of HBK and twists it around his own leg and then comes crashing down onto it with all of his body weight. John does this same hold two more times before breaking it. Cena then drags Michaels, by the hurt leg, and place that same hurt leg onto the bottom rope. Cena comes down on the leg of Shawn Michaels while it is positioned on the bottom rope. Cena does this again and goes for it a third time. However, this time Shawn is able to get his other foot up and kick Cena out of the ring. John takes a nasty spill on the outside as Shawn tries to get to his feet. The fans are chanting “HBK, HBK†as Shawn gets to his feet. Shawn calls for support from the crowd as he goes to bounce off the ropes. Shawn then performs his splash through the middle rope onto John Cena. Michaels slowly gets to his feet and does his signiture dance but only on one foot. Cena is able to get to all fours and then clip the knee out from underneath of Shawn. Cena rolls Shawn into the ring and goes to pin him but Shawn reaches his arm out and gets it on the bottom rope. The referee breaks the pin up and John gets up and grabs Shawn by the leg and pulls him to the middle of the ring. Cena lands a knee drop to the very lower region of Shawn and then get kicks Shawn in the head. Cena goes for what appears to be the Five-knuckle shuffle. But instead of doing the fist drop, Cena pulls his knee pad down and does the signature Ric Flair knee drop. Cena goes for the pin but only gets a two count. Cena starts to get frustrated as he grabs Shawn by the hair and pulls him to his feet. Cena is yelling at the crowd as Shawn is able to break the grasp of Cena and fire up with multiple right hand shots. Shawn starts to wear out but is able to get one big Sweet Chin Music onto Cena. Shawn falls back but does not land on Cena. The referee gets to eight before Cena and Shawn get to their feet. Cena is actually up to his feet first and sets Shawn up for a F-U. Shawn gets up in the fireman’s carry but is able to once again land on his feet. Shawn tries for another Sweet Chin Music but Cena ducks and is able to get behind Shawn and clip the knee once more of Shawn Michaels. Cena quickly gets to his feet and locks in the figure four leg-lock as Shawn Michaels screams out in pain. Ric Flair then makes his way to the ring as Shawn is still yelling out in pain. Flair has thrown off his jacket and is near the ring. The referee is on the other side of the ring that Flair has gone to. Ric is on the side where Cena’s arms are and Ric does the unthinkable and grabs the hands of Cena and helps him put more pressure on Cena. The referee is able to spot this and makes Cena breaks the hold. Cena gets to his feet first as a woozy Shawn Michaels tries to get to his feet. HBK is successful and then walks into a F-U. Shawn goes over this time and gets pinned by Cena for the two count. Cena cannot believe it as Ric is going ballistic on the outside. Cena gets back to his feet and goes to set up for the F-U once more but changes his mind and goes to the top rope. Shawn gets up quicker than he was and is able to cut Cena off and take him off the ropes just as Ric Flair would get dropped off of the top rope. Cena quickly gets to his feet as Shawn comes charging at him with a clothesline. Cena falls down and gets right back up and lands another clothesline. Cena falls to the canvas and then gets right back to his feet. Shawn backs up and lands his flying elbow. Both men are down for about four seconds before Shawn nips up and goes to tune up the band. Cena slowly gets to his feet as Shawn calls for him to get up. Shawn goes for a knockout Sweet Chin Music but Cena ducks once more and then is able to counter into the F-U for the three count. After the match, Ric and Cena celebrate in the middle of the ring.

Ross: I cannot believe what I am seeing. Ric Flair in the middle of the ring with the man that turned on him and attacked him, taking him out of the MITB Ladder Match. Why did Flair do this? Can someone, by god, tell me why?

Lawler:[ I don’t know JR. But as you mentioned the MITB Ladder Match is going to be happening tonight.

Styles: That is right, Jerry. The biggest highlight reel in all of Sports Entertainment will be coming your way next. Eight men and god know how many ladders. This one will be for lack of better terms, a slobber knocker.

Taz: Woah Joey, way to steal JR’s phrase but it’s ok because tonight ECW is going to come in and win the MITB match just like Shelton Benjamin won the Royal Rumble match back in January. Speaking of the Royal Rumble, I hear that Jeremy Borash is in the back with “ECW’s Underdog†Shelton Benjamin.

Styles: Take it away, JB.

JB: Thank you Joey and Taz. You are correct. I am here with Shelton Benjamin. Shelton if I could just get a few moments of your time.

Shelton: Sure JB. But look man, no questions. I already know the answers. Ok, Edge, so you got your boys to attack me a couple times. You tried to keep me out of the Rumble match. When I finally got in the Rumble match I drew the worst number possible. I was the number one entrant. You also felt it necessary to attack me in the Rumble. Well none of that worked, so you made me run the gauntlet so I could pick the type of match. I got through that obstacle and picked the match that I knew you could not beat me. See, contrary to popular believe, Shelton Benjamin is not a five-minute man. I can go in that ring for as long as I need to. So, Edge that is why I picked thae Iron-man match. Tonight it is you and me in that ring for sixty minutes. Most falls win the strap. Shelton Benjamin is not leaving Orlando without that belt around his waist even if I have to die trying because there is no Stoppin me Now.

Money in the Bank Match
Brock Lesner vs. Kurt Angle vs. Kane vs. Umaga vs. Jack Evans vs. AJ Styles vs. Shane Helms vs. Elijah Burke.

The Match starts wit all eight men in the ring as the referee rings the bell. All of the men in the match run out to the outside and grab ladders. Burke is the first one back into the ring and he places his ladder above his head. Kurt Angle gets in and throws the ladder at Burke hitting him in the mid-section. Elijah falls backwards and the ladder that he was holding flies into the air and then onto the body of Elijah Burke. Elijah cringes at his face and rolls out of the ring and onto the floor. Kurt Angle celebrates as Shane Helms gets into the ring and takes the ladder and lunges the ladder at Angle and knocks him out of the ring. Helms turns around to see AJ Styles in the ring. Helms still has his ladder in hand and AJ tosses the ladder at Helms just at the same time that Helms lunges his ladder at AJ. The ladders collide in the middle of the ring as AJ bounces off the ropes, leaps over the ladders and collides with Helms. The impact of the cross body sends both Styles and Shane Helms over the top rope. On the outside, Kane has taken the ladder from Umaga that they were fighting over and Kane nails Umaga in the head with it. Umaga does not go down as Kane hits him once more. Umaga stumbles backwards and gets closer to the pile of wrestlers on the outside of the ring as Kane nails him once more and sends him into the wrestlers that were on the floor. Kane is standing tall as Jack Evans climbs to the top rope and then comes off with a Shooting Star Press onto the six wrestlers on the outside. Brock Lesner than slides into the ring with a ladder and looks over at all seven of his opponents. In an attempt to eliminate the competition, Brock puts the ladder on his shoulders and gets near the ring rope. Brock then performs the F-5 to the ladder thus sending the ladder over the top rope and onto the other men in the match-up except for Elijah Burke who was the first that got knocked to the outside. Brock thinks that he got every one as he grabs one of the ladders that AJ or Shane dropped and sets it up. Brock begins to climb as Burke slides into the ring. Lesner is halfway up until Burke comes over and knocks the ladder over and forcing Brock to hop off the ladder and splitting his legs on the top ring rope. Burke grabs the ladder and repositions it and begins to ascend the ladder. Burke slowly makes his way up the ladder as Kurt Angle slides into the ring. Kurt slowly and calmly walks over to Burke and then picks one of the ankles of Burke. Elijah tries to kick Kurt off of him with his free leg but that just makes things worse for Burke as he has no base to stand on. Kurt grabs Burke off of the ladder and applies the ankle lock. Burke screams out in pain and makes it to the ropes. The referees on the outside of the ring come over to Burke and tell him that there is nothing that he can do as Burke continues to tap out. Eventually Shane Helms comes into the ring. He looks down at his fellow ECW roster mate and then starts to climb the ladder. AJ is next into the ring and he grabs the other ladder that is set on the floor and sets it up next to the ladder that Helms is on. AJ begins to climb the ladder and punches Helms in the gut. Shane slows down his ascent to the top of the ladder as AJ lands another hard right hand. AJ then takes his hand of off the rung of the ladder and balances himself on the rung of the ladder. AJ yells out to the crowd and then jumps in the air and lands the pele to the back of Helms’ neck and crushes his head into the ladder. Styles lands face-first on the canvas. Helms falls all the way onto his back from about the middle of the ladder and the crowd goes absolutely nuts. On the outside of the ring Jack Evans is back up and he looks underneath the ring and then pulls out the gigantic twenty foot ladder. He has a hard time handling it but is finally able to get it into the ring. Jack sees that everyone is down and that Kane and Umaga are fighting on the outside. Kane has a steel chair and crushes Umaga with it. Lesner is on the outside as Jack is in the ring and is rearranging some of the ladders. He places on of the sixteen footers in the corner of the ring and the other sixteen footer in the other corner. Jack then places the other twenty footer in between the middle rungs of the two ladders creating a monstrous scaffold in the middle of the ring. By this time, Brock has climbed into the ring and he goes after Evans he finished putting the scaffold in place. Brock locks Jack in a belly to belly and throws Evans so hard that he ends up landing on his face after doing a complete front flip in the air. Kurt has finally let go off the Ankle Lock and he begins to climb the ladder in the corner and then begins to crawl on the scaffolding. Kane has rolled into the ring and goes after Angle. He grabs the leg of Angle and that stops him from trying to get the briefcase which is actually in reach. Angle then bends down to try and get Kane off of his leg but Kane guzzles the neck of Angle and choke slams him off of the ladder. The fans cheer as loud as possible as Kane climbs up the middle scaffolding and starts to reach for the briefcase. Umaga slowly rolls into the and comes at Kane. Kane sees Umaga and comes off the top of the scaffold with a clothesline that rocks Umaga and sends him to the canvas. By this time, AJ is getting up and climbing the ladder in the corner as Brock does the same thing in the opposite corner. They get up to the scaffold ladder and Brock lands a hard right hand. Brock lands another one and then gets AJ up on his shoulder by kicking AJ in the gut and simply muscling him up. Brock is about to go for the F-5 but AJ is able to slip out from behind him. AJ spins Brock around. AJ lands a kick in the gut and then a forearm to the back of Brock that was bent over. AJ locks in the Styles Clash and nails it, from the top of the scaffold to the canvas below. AJ slowly gets to his feet as the crowd goes absolutely crazy and chants “Holy Shit.†Shane Helms slowly gets to his feet as Kane does the same thing. Kane rolls to the outside of the ring and grabs a ladder and slides it into the ring. However, Helms is back on his feet and is on the scaffolding. He is reaching for the belt as Kane throws the ladder at Helms and cracks it him in the face. Helms falls off of the ladder and lands on his back as Kane is attacked from behind by Umaga. Umaga grabs the ladder and cracks Kane in the back with it. He also nails Kane in the face with the ladder and that sends Kane onto the scaffolding. Umaga takes his ladder that he is holding and sets it up. He begins to climb the ladder and gets near the top of the ladder before yelling “Samoa†and jumping off onto Kane, who is on the 20 foot ladder scaffolding, and goes through Kane’s body and through the ladder in the process. Umaga rolls over and grabs at his stomach as Kane is just motionless in the middle of the ring. Angle is finally getting back up and he rolls Umaga and Kane out of the ring as Jack Evans is slowly getting back to his feet. He grabs the ladder in the corner of the ring and puts it in the middle of the ring. Evans begins to climb the ladder as Angle sees this and begins to climb. AJ Styles finally makes his way to his feet and grabs the other ladder and sets it up next to the one that both Kurt Angle and Jack Evans are on. Kurt nails an outstretched Evans with a right hand punch as and then another one. Kurt hooks Jack for a suplex as Styles flips over and sunset flips Angle and Angle suplexes Evans in a Tower of Doom. Brock is slowly making his way to his feet as Elijah Burke is getting to his feet. Brock begins to climb the ladder that is in the middle of the ring as Burke begins to slowly climb the other ladder. The two combatants are on the same side of their respective ladders and begin to climb. Brock nails Burke with a few shots to the rib and then Brock grabs Burke and puts him on his shoulders and then somehow walks up the other rungs of the ladder and then tosses Burke off his shoulder in a semi F-5 and Burke lands hard on the canvas below as Brock grabs the briefcase and becomes Mr. Money in the Bank.
