Because next week's Raw tour of South Africa, WWE is doing their TV tapings for next week on Saturday and Sunday. Smackdown will be taped on Saturday in Cincinnati, OH while Raw will be taped the next day in Columbus, OH. ECW on Sci Fi was back down to a 1.3 cable rating on Tuesday night. That is way down from last week's 1.7.
For those curious, US Open Tennis did a 1.0 cable rating on Monday night in Raw's spot. As usual, WWE crushed Tennis but USA likes the affluent audience that the US Open brings them.
Concerning WWE's SummerSlam survey, John Morlan sent this. ... Usually you can’t be too cynical in the world of WWE, but I would say you might possibly be overly cynical about the SummerSlam survey. I filled it out successfully as soon as I got the Email, although it was working very very slowly at times. I’m guessing that the survey site wasn’t equipped to handle the kind of traffic generated when WWE sent out the Email to their whole list and crashed. Also, the survey was really less about what I thought of the PPV and more about how far in advance I decided to order the PPV, what format I used to watch the show, where I saw ads for the show, what other PPVs I typically order, etc. Only a few questions pertained to my “overall rating†of the show or “my favorite matchâ€.
I got word from a friend of mine that Sandman is at today's Philadelphia Phillies-New York Mets afternoon game at Citizens Bank Park. Sandman is from the Philadelphia area and has been seen at the park many times before.
Jeff Sheridan sent word that MSG Classics on The MSG Network is set to air on 9/5, 9/12 and 9/19, but will not air on 9/26. I know that will bum out Buck Woodward.
William Wildy sent word that in Albany NY, Smackdown will air on 9/1 at 8 p.m. I always find it kind of bizarre when the city where the show was taped has to wait to watch it on TV.
