Thinking about some of the shit that went on back then, is this really so hard to believe? Cannibalism is still the norm in some places in Africa, as is public execution by necklacing, which just goes to show how messed up some places in Africa is. (Cannibalism is the norm elsewhere too, especially with certain kinds of tribes. Watch Cannibal Holocaust if you dare.)
