EA Sports Gets Back Into Baseball: Kind of: Super Mega Baseball 4 Coming June 2nd.

Some of you may recognize this game title from a little thing I did before, but Super Mega Baseball is a (once) indy Baseball game created by Metalhead Studios based in BC Canada. It is known for Arcade action with still some depth, creative player names like Hammer Longballo, Marsha Brown, Rip Dingers and more and earned a respectable cult following, having 3 entries in the series, with SMB 2 and 3 being VERY well received. This success brought the attention of EA who bought the company.

While EA's reputation is fairly infamous. I don't think that needs to be said more. They also have not produced a Baseball game since the MVP series. This, so far, seems to be a good partnership as it lead to Metalhead gaining an expanded team, and resources and are the main ones running the show. In a Reddit post, the developers also stated no micro transactions, a blessing, and only extra paid content is likely DLC, which happened in the second game.



The changes of this game, apart from new parks, is the inclusion of MLB legends.

I think for baseball fans, this is a good option for a game. And I might post more info here in the next month as it drops. I also will likely try something in the game with interaction from forum members. Not sure if I will do an entire custom league, but something with you guys for fun.
