WWE taped a match for the upcoming Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament at Friday's NXT live event in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady defeated Angelo Dawkins and Sawyer Fulton in the first round match that will air on the WWENetwork.

As noted, the tournament will kick off on NXT TV this Wednesday with Rhyno and Baron Corbin vs. The Ascension. Based on tapings that have already happened, here is what we know will air for the tournament:

* Enzo and Cassady over Dawkins and Fulton

* Samoa Joe and Finn Balor over The Lucha Dragons

* Rhyno and Corbin over The Ascension

* Jason Jordan and Chad Gable over Neville and Solomon Crowe

* Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa over Tyler Breeze and Bull Dempsey

It was probably the PPA deal, but hopefully WWE signs them soon or maybe they've already signed 'em, but are keeping quiet. Who knows? Let's wait and see.

The winners of the first-round matches will then go to the semi-finals and the winner of Bracket A will face the winner of Bracket B while the winner of Bracket C will face the winner of Bracket D. The finals will take place on October 7th at Takeover from Full Sail University.

You know what, let's assume both Ciampa and Gargano have their developmental contracts signed already.

Now, if Ciampa and Gargano somehow managed to get to the finals and then lost, Regal could come out and say 'Gentlemen, both of have shown you're great workers and I think you deserve NXT contracts.'

- WWE NXT Tag Team Champions The Vaudevillians defeated Blake and Murphy at Friday's NXT live event in Jacksonville in another first-round match for the Dusty RhodesClassic Tag Team Tournament.

We now know which teams will face each other to advance. These matches will likely take place at the September 10th NXT TV tapings from Full Sail University or they may space them out at various live events as they have been doing. From there, the winner of Bracket A will face the winner of Bracket B while the winner of Bracket C faces the winner of Bracket D. Those two winning teams will then face off at the October 7th NXT Takeover event from Full Sail University to determine a tournament winner.

So i'm guessing this is the start of the PPA deal with Ciampa and Gargano, kind of a trial run like they did with Samoa Joe. I like what NXT is doing, getting the independents involved is the best way to keep the gears in the industry running.
