pretty much considering not many other people watch anything other than UFC and Strikeforce i'm making this thread for the discussion of all the other MMA promotions, defunct (RIP PRIDE) or otherwise.

Guess the only thing good about those big ass cards is that the people there should def get their money's worth depending on how much it cost to be there.

Bellator Fighting Championships today announced the promotion's inaugural Light Heavyweight World Championship Tournament which will take place in Bellator's much anticipated fourth season. The eight-man 205 lbs. Tournament will start in March, 2011. The eight Light Heavyweights will determine their own destiny in the cage on the road to the first Bellator Light Heavyweight Championship belt and $100,000 to the tournament winner.

An exhaustive search is currently underway to find the best available light heavyweights the MMA world has to offer. With six of the eight fighters already selected, announcements regarding confirmed participants of the 2011 Bellator Light Heavyweight Tournament are anticipated in the coming days.

"We've wanted to add a Light Heavyweight World Championship Tournament since Season 1, but wanted to ensure that when we did it, we had a great group fighting for the title. Now, we do," said Bellator Chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney. "One of the best parts of my job is handing over the Bellator World Title belt to a new champion, and I'll have the pleasure of doing it again this upcoming season."

Not gonna be much in terms of talent there...Light Heavy is pretty much dominated by UFC and SF...and I might be wrong but last time I check they have all of the top 25 ranked fighters at 205 locked up between the 2 of them. The tournament format is nice....but they have have some talent at the other weights and they would of been better off putting a tourney on hold and showcasing those guys to start off there run on MTV2.

Supposedly that wanted Lashley to face Reem but he wanted 6 figures...think Duffee is doing it for like 60k....Strikeforce needs to get there shit together and actually make Reem defended his title though.

Lashley would get absolutely raped by Overeem. Duffee is still going to get fucked up but he's 1000 times better than Lashley.

sometimes. They have cards longer in general than the American promotions but they also run less shows during the year and their end of year shows in Japan (Dynamite!! and the ones run by world victory road sengoku) are huge for Japan. I think Soul of Fight also had a bunch of other kickboxing fights on it as well. was like an all day event.
