With me being a current big ROH fan, I want to say something about how people get the matches and watch ROH. What are people's thoughts on downloading ROH? This could apply to other indies too.

Personally, I'm not a fan of it. Yeah, there's some people that don't have the money or are too far away to get ROH, but for the people that can, they really shouldn't download that stuff. I only downloaded ROH when I was first getting into it, but not anymore. I'm the kind of person that supports the things that interest me with money, and watching a video for free isn't really helping ROH. But with me having about 75 ROH DVD's and about 15 FIP DVD's, I'd say I've helped ROH.

Wow, I didn't know I could suck up to something so much. I want to hear what people think about this, not just ROH fanboys.

Well... Usually if I download a show its due to lack of funds. Though when I do have some cash, I go and order the shows online.

Perfect example... The Aries vs Shiozaki match I posted (CHEAP PLUG!!). I currently don't have money to buy that particular show, I wanted to watch the match so I downloaded it. I enjoyed it, but its doesn't change a damn thing. When I get some cash, I'll buy the show.

I don't really mind if people download shows or matches. Would it be better if they went out and bought the shows? HELL YES. But I'm not going to go around telling people not to DL shows.

I guess it depends how it is done. I don't mind if people download a show or two to see the product. But once you start download any and all of the shows, and don't purchase any dvds, thats kinda messed. Im kinda like SP. I'll DL what i can, and of what i see, if i like ill purchase it. I've bought about 18 dvds in the past year. For me DL'n is a good way to see what is purchase worthy.

But if you don't buy dvds and don't plan on buying dvds. You shouldnt DL ROH, without doing anything to promote ROH. ( Merchandise, Sigs, word of mouth) At least show the product to a few more people.

If I'm new to ROH (which I am) I won't go straight away and buy DVD's of it's shows, I'll check it on youtube, dailymotion if nothing is available then come on places like this and grab some decent downloads of good matches. If I love ROH then I will go on a buy future DVD's because downloaded quality sort of sucks.

Sure you support the company and help them, but if you get things for free you won't spend money on them will you? :yeahright:

If they released ROH DVDs in UK stores I would buy them. As of now I cannot watch any ROH because I'm in agreement with the guys who dislike downloading stuff like that

you're in the UK, I think they show old ROH shows on TV, but I'm not sure when it's on, you should ask some other UK'ers here.

The best legal way to follow ROH is the video wire. It shows who everyone is and what they do. It'll be tough getting hold of what's happening, but once you get familiar with it, watching is lots better. And you can ask one of the ROH fans on here of what's going on and the changes in ROH over the years.
