Brazilian media giant OGlobo is reporting that JDS hopes to represent Brazil in the Olympics, which wil be held in Brazil in 2016.

With the proximity of the Olympics in Rio Janeiro, Cigano and his coach already envision an Olympic medal. Dorea is confident in the ability of his pupil.

It has always been his dream. He wants and has a chance to win a medal. Our priority is the MMA, but he has great chance to represent Brazil. He is a very good boxer - the coach said.

I wouldn't be upset to see this, he could be a great boxer and I would definitely cheer for him.

I could see him being a threat, his boxing is already strong and this is five years away so he has plenty of time to train. I think that he can fight in MMA for a few more years before stepping away to try to make this happen.

Yeah i wouldn't mind seeing this, his boxing skills can only get better between now and 2016 so there's a good chance he'd do really well.

It would definitely get me to watch the heavyweight boxing at the 2016 Olympics. I never watch the boxing events but if Dos Santos would I would give it a shot.

I never watch the Olympics in general hah. I'd definitely watch if he was going to be boxing.

I normally watch a fair bit of it each time it is on but the boxing is normally really boring because it is different system to what I am used to seeing.
