England's Paul Taylor has been handed arguably the toughest assignment of his career at UFC Live in Milwaukee after it was confirmed to ESPN that he will take on the dangerous Donald Cerrone.
Taylor had been lined up to fight John Makdessi on August 14, on a card headlined by Dan Hardy's welterweight war with Chris Lytle.
Makdessi had to back out of the fight a couple of days ago with an undisclosed injury. This will be Cerrone's third fight in just over six months since entering the UFC, and he'll be looking to improve to 3-0 under the UFC banner. The former WEC mainstay had asked to fight Cole Miller or Sam Stout next, but it looks like he's willing to step up on short notice to take on anyone the UFC asks him to. Cerrone's first fight in the UFC was a submission victory over Taylor's teammate Paul Kelly, which ended Kelly's run in the promotion.Taylor had been lined up to fight John Makdessi on August 14, on a card headlined by Dan Hardy's welterweight war with Chris Lytle.
