“I am looking forward to it. (Barao) is new blood,†said Cruz, who was part of the network’s team covering the event. “He was composed and is ready for a five-round title-fight with me.â€
Barao is now 31-1 and has not lost since his debut. Cruz, meanwhile owns a record of 19-1 with his lone loss coming to Faber at featherweight.
I'm actually looking forward to this fight as well, I think Barao takes it. The dude seems unstoppable and this combined with the fact that Cruz hasn't fought in forever and is going to be coming into this fight with a surgically repaired ACL-MCL is why i'm leaning towards Barao. Going to be a while before we see this fight though, maybe January-February before Cruz is 100%.
